OfflineWhy do TV shows ask for serious inquiries only when they are just putting on a TV show for entertainment?
Why doesn’t someone do a factual documentary on what people do in the field of paranormal study. I mean look into the academics side instead of the entertainment side. They do it for other things.
We all get entertained by the TV shows but isn't it getting old? When is someone going to do a project that people can learn from or at least identify with? I mean something new and not the same old stale teachings from 70 years ago that are still being used on the TV shows today. I am by far not the only one who feels this way although not many voice their opinions on it. I wonder why?
Then again, I admit that I don’t know how TV works and am only going on what I am interested in. I do however, understand that the people that put on TV shows are doing this for a living and the bottom line is, this is how they pay the bills. If they can’t sell it then they can’t make a living. Maybe one day someone not interested in the money as much will do a factual show. It may be a gamble but I think it would sell. Then again, I am not making my living from TV.
Anybody out there involved with TV that can chime in and answer the questions seriously?
OfflineOne thing that you have to remember is that the network is the customer with a contract and pretty much whatever they say goes. So I suppose getting people interested, even with something superficial is at least still getting people interested. I'd love a documentary, which is why I plan to pick up the Wellington one whenever PUG finishes it next year.
OfflineIf a TV channel such as Discovery or a similar network would take the subject with no bias either way and no hocus-pocus, then treat us to history of the paranormal from past to present and then also have state of the art worlwide investigations with paranormal "experts" (real deal needed only to apply) and scientists and also physicists present to prove or debunk live evidence taken. Maybe have a call in line for questions from you or I……..all with no commercials would be nice.
OfflineThe only way that I could see this happening so where money doesn't become an issue is rotate out groups on the show. For example say you have a place somewhere in Michigan to investigate, find a local group that is interested and meets requirements and film them doing an investigation. The group does not get paid for it. Then the next week, go to another location and use a different group.
