Sorry to hear about the robbery. Like I always say, its not ghosts you have to be afraid of, it's fleshies!
Just for the record, I do go into the night armed. I've run across to many squatters and alike with bad intent in my travels.
Luckily, I've never had to brandish my weapon though. I'd hate to see a night of research turn into a night of violence.

Beginning to remind me of a Monster Quest show I saw where they were looking for BigFoot. This supposed police officer heard a noise in the woods. So, in the dark he starts shooting randomly in the direction of the noise.
How about being more responsible and careful where they hunt instead? Just a thought.
The show was "Bigfootville" on the travel channel. Yes, that scene made me cringe. Lord only knows what/who may have been wondering the woods that night. Most non-mayberry depts. have a policy which includes use of force matrices for off duty carry. Hopefully that guy's superiors saw that and yanked his card. I do always carry on bigfoot or wooded expidtions, but I or someone in my party would have to be in immenent danger as in animal attack before it gets used.

I actually have seen that episode on several different shows. I guess maybe they sell them to other networks or something.
I am a retired detective and also cringed when I saw that. I wonder what goes through some people’s minds and if they are that reckless always? And people ask me why I handpicked my group and won’t take on any more members… Oh well, to each his own!
