OfflineSo, before the start of my son's school year, which will limit our travel time for quite some time, we've decided to get in one more road trip, albeit a short one (it's only about 30 minutes away), and head down to the Queen Mary next week.
We'll be staying for two nights and taking a paranormal tour and self guided tour.
I've been to the Queen Mary before (for a prom even LOL), but I've never stayed overnight.
We'll probably also hit the Long Beach Aquarium and Shoreline Village, as well as a few other locations.
I'm excited and can't wait!

Sounds great! Have a great time, and please share any goodies you find! /biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' />

Thanks Sympathy!
We'll be taking all our equipment with us. LOL
No video or audio are allowed on the paranormal tour (only photography), but we'll try and do some video/audio when we take our self guided tour. I'm sure no one will notice. /wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' />
OfflineBe sure to get to the Aquarium early! It fills up quick as the day goes on. Maybe I should go and stay there too! What are the rates for rooms and tours?
Hey! Are you in LA or Orange County?
Well, the paranormal tour is costly, $50 per person for about 2 hours. $75 for the more in-depth paranormal investigation tour and again 2 hours. There are some cheaper paranormal tours onboard, I believe I saw one for $30. There might be some others as well.
The rooms that we got we about $150 each night plus tax. We booked late in the game, so not sure how much of a break you'd get doing it further in advance.
We had annual passes to the Aquarium back when it first opened, but we haven't been in a few years. It's a cute little aquarium isn't it!

I live out in the desert, near Palmdale. But I go to LB and anywhere else when I can. I do like the aquarium though! I want to take my sons. My 2 year old loves fish and really enjoyed the San Diego Zoo, so I think he'd love the aquarium out there.
I actually expected it to be more per night for some reason. I think it'd be reasonable for a short vacation sometime during the year.

Way back before they had their "Ghosts and Legends" Tour (2000), I was invited for a personal tour given by the owner's son and allowed to investigate the entire ship. We started at 11:00 p.m. and finished at 6:00 a.m. We also stayed on board (for those few hours we actually slept).
Cheryl, I'd be interested to hear if you and/or Chad have any specific feelings as you go on your tour and exactly where. I'll explain what happened to me after you return.
Have fun! As you already know, it is a beautiful ship where you literally step back into time.

OfflineOkay, so we went on the Paranormal Walking Tour last night. I had no personal experiences until we got down to the bottom of the ship, 40 feet beneath the waterline. It was eerie because there was some kind of fish making a weird sound outside the thin walls, sounding almost like a frog. We were locked into this section of the Queen Mary, cutting us off supposedly from the outside world. The tour guide had us turn off all of our lights and then asked any entities present to let us know of their presence.
Soon we could hear knocks from various areas of the room around us. Of course the **** behind me was knocking on the wall, and snickering like a naughty school boy. I was half tempted to shine my mini mag light on him and let him have what for. After this session we were allowed to walk around the room.
I'm not saying some of the dubious knocks could have had a normal explanation. The ship settling, or even co-conspirators of our tour guide knocking around in the pitch black sprung to mind, but if neither of those were the case then something paranormal was going on. The knocks were in places that none of our group could have gotten to, as most of them, except Cheryl, the aforementioned ****, the tour guide, his assistant (who I could hear behind me as well, so I know she didn't go anywhere), and myself, were seated in chairs formed in an oval.
It was interesting, and I got the same feelings of unease that I got at Waverly when I had my encounter with the moving ball. A connection? Who knows? I would like to come back under the auspices of the eMag and try to get an extended amount of time down there.
