OfflineThere's a very good chance that I, a friend, her nephew, and some other people may be able to form a paranormal investigative group here in the metro Twin Cities (MN) area.
I am wondering if folks on these forums, who are part of a group, wouldn't mind sharing how your group coalesced, how you find places to investigate, how you organize yourselves (communication, etc), and most importantly, what you'd differently if you started a group again. I am very excited to perhaps have the chance to be a part of a group and investigate places and I'm really hoping that it will be a long lasting and positive experience for everyone.
Input is appreciated. Thanks!
OfflineJust wait for my book to come out.
Actually that will be a long time since I'm not writing one at the moment.
My group started out with friends who had the same interest. We trained at some of our houses to get a feel for things and work out bugs. From there we developed a free website that gets some attention every once and awhile. We started out just by word of mouth from friends and family. We've had to contact some places and ask them to investigate. Another local group has been hitting the places with gift shops and inviting the local media stations to come along.
I've found that the democratic process is the best for us when it decides things.

Thanks Ryan. We too, are hoping the more egalitarian and democratic, the better. Time will tell, I guess.
