OfflineMan, what a good time. I feel like 3 days wasn't enough to even scratch the surface on the mysteries of this ship. Definitely going back when I can. I just posted up all of my infrared galleries on flickr, you can check them out at:
There is a mysterious photo I got on my infrared photo survey. The following photo was taken in the chart room looking to port. It is in infrared shot, no flash. There is a glass pane between the camera and the shot, but there was no one around to cast reflection but myself.
The only people present in the area (for roughly 45 minutes during the time I was photographing the bridge/wheelhouse) was my wife, who at the time of this photograph, was in a seperate room (starboard side chart room). I am always hesitant to say something is definately paranormal, but this photo has me puzzled.
I won't be offended by anyone debunking this photo, as stated I am hesitant, but it sure looks like a possible apparition.
On the right side of the photo it appears someone is leaning against the dresser/drawers with one leg in front and the other either tucked behind or not materialized. I am not sure what to make of this one, but it appears to be a waist-down apparition. Remember this is infrared, no flash.
thanks
Andy

I can't wait to look through your photos Andy!
OK, how did you rule out that the leg is not yours? I can definitely see it, but could it be your left leg? and the reason we can't see the right let is because it is cut off by the photo?
I also see what looks like a bag or something hanging off to the side of the leg.
Did you meet any other investigators there?
OfflineYep, whoever that is, they are uhhhh, daintier than myself, lol. I see the full leg as being the left leg of the figure, with the right leg angled and tucked possibly behind the left at the knee. Sortof as if it was lounging on the wood case there. Only other person in the vicinity was my wife, but she was in a different room at the time, so I dunno. For the leg to be mine in the reflection, I would have to be standing approximately 4 feet to my right and another couple of feet starboard of my position while taking the photo. I tried to recreate it, but getting myself into position requires me being at an aspect where I cannot have taken the picture from that angle.
I met Frank Sumption and Bill Murphy while out there, and that was the highlight of the conference. I will simply say the conference was disappointing, 3 headlining speakers (Chappell, Bradford, and Bess) were no shows, there was not a inventor table as promised, the event was moved from the Queen's salon to the Britania Room, there was generally poor attendance, and finally some less-than-professional behavior from some of the guest speakers/vendors. All in all, I should be grateful that the conference took place at all, and didn't turn out to be a TAPScon scenario. The ghost hunts were a joke, we divided into teams of 25, and a good portion of participants on my team were intoxicated prior to starting. I will say this, despite the disappointments, meeting and talking with Frank Sumption and Bill Murphy more than made up for the other shortcomings.
The ship is so beautiful. We do plan on returning during weekdays when foot traffic is low and events are less frequent. That ship is a treasure, and you can just feel the energy teeming in it's corridors. I am in love with that ship, that is certain /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='

OfflineInteresting photo, Andy. I'm going to have to think about that one for a while.

Will you post it in our photo gallery – or send it to me to post?
Thanks!
Edited: Could it be just a light stain in the wood grain that matrixes to look like a foot?
I'm not sure. It certainly wasn't visible to the naked eye, but as we all know, IR has a way of seeing the unseen. Surely is something we must consider.
Thanks
Andy
OfflineWhen we were returning from the Myrtles, we made a detour in Houston and visited the Battleship Texas. We didn't know about any of the reported paranormal activity there until we got back. I went looking through my pictures that I took and found a rather interesting one. I was taking a picture of the barber shop inside the ship and if you zoomed in and looked at the mirror you could see me taking a picture and someone passing behind me. When I was taking pictures I was careful to avoid taking any pictures when anyone was near me. Somehow this guy snuck in. The only way we debunked it was the guy in the photo wasn't wearing clothes for someone working on a battleship. Still I'm convinced that no one was around me but I guess I missed him somehow.
I bring this up because it sounds similar to what I got. When I get back to work, I'll post the picture.

I have to concede that the possibility exists someone else could have been there. It is certainly a big ship. It would be hard to gain access to that room without my knowledge, as the only access was on the wheelhouse aft bulkhead (into short hallway) or from the other chartroom (where my wife was laying on the bed). I would love to see that photo, Ryan.
Houston is only an 8 hour drive for me, lol. I might make a weekend out of the Battleship Texas. I must have been in the Navy in a former life…

Being able to rule out yourself and others … the photo then becomes very compelling!
Sorry to hear about the event being less than exceptional.
