Sorry I haven't been around here for awhile, really busy and its seems my acct is farting and sometimes I get on but most times NOT. MK is helping me out. Love ya girl!! Still won't let me change my email acct.

ANYWHO;

So, I was sitting at work, proctoring exams and a colleague (not in my department) enters the classroom and asks me if I believed in ghosts. Now mind you, I haven't shared my passion for the paranormal with many in my field because I often get those looks like I must have escaped from the Psych Dept! hahaha

SO, thinking that my so called friends are trying to PUNK me . . . I looked at him like -- are you serious Dude? Who's putting you up to this?-- He was as serious as the day is long. I looked around the room to see a bunch of my testers looking at me in total disbelief. I told him I'd have to talk to him later.

So later, I went into his office and asked him if he was serious. He proceeded to tell me about the four occurrences which he and his wife (and two daughters) have experienced over the last year and a half since moving into his present house. Now, the details of these events are long and involved, too much to get into here, but as I listened I was doing the obvious debunking, etc. Let me preface this whole account, this guy is HUGE (he is of the Phys Ed persuasion), and he stated before he even started describing these events that before moving to this house that he DID NOT believe in ghosts; he was a total skeptic.

He started telling me about the occurrence that happened the night before which prompted him to seek me out (he literally emailed various people around the various departments), the occurrence which both he and his wife witnessed, the occurrence which had his wife dialing 911 and he getting his gun AND LOADING IT. This is what scared me. The guy seriously is scared and doesn't know who to turn to.

Now I know enough that I know that I need to help this guy (great guy BTW) find a reputable research group to go in and investigate, if not for anything but he ease his mind. He is scared, he wants to protect his wife and two girls. I also know enough that I wouldn't tell him to try to contact GH/GHI/GHA. PLEASE! Give me more credit than that.

WHERE CAN I FIND A REPUTABLE PARANORMAL RESEARCH TEAM IN THE CLEVELAND AREA?? I remember back when I started on the GH Forum, Bowl2U was out of this area but I haven't seen him for awhile.

I'm putting a shout out to my peeps! Let's put our paranormal $$ where our mouth is!!

Now, I will try to log back on later today. I've got to go to a conference. Love You Guys!!

Oh wow, whatever happened to your friend, Faust, sounds intense.

Looks like there are some recommendations here already. I was going to say to Google for local groups and check into their experience/background/references, etc.

Let us know how it goes!

I don't have a passport yet to leave Texas. I would but I don't think I could get the entire team up there.

Too bad we don't live there anymore or we'd help you. We just moved out of Ohio back in May.

We actually are from Cleveland, but lived in Columbus for two years before relocating out to New England.

Ah, that makes sense now. Sounds cool. Too bad I can't swing the time for vacation right now.

Don't forget the #1 rule when seriously trying to find a group to investigate something.

Interview them as you would anyone you would hire to do something and interview all those that are in your area. Don't go with the first one you find.

Also, never, never be afraid to get a second opinion. If any group balks at that then you may need to look elsewhere.

One cool thing about that is if it's actually in Mansfield, you'd be able to see the Mansfield Reformatory. From the outside… They're done with tours for now except for the ghost tours that should be wrapping up shortly, too.

Thanks, I sat down and whittled down the groups. One group was a bunch of gothish kids!! /dry.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' /> Still waiting on a reply from COPS, Central Ohio Paranormal Society. If anybody else has suggestions, throw it our here!!

Thanks again

Yes, you will run into a lot like that. However, there are a lot of good ones too. Hang in there.

Check some of these out too.

I hear a group called TAPS id very reputable. They'll go to any location that has a gift shop. Does this location have a gift shop? Is that location a well known historical figure…that has an online gift shop? No? then scratch TAPS.

<runs for cover before Faust hits me>

I'm not always right but I'm never wrong.

The above are my opinions.

Wait, I've heard of TAPS somewhere before. I can't place it exactly but I know I've heard of them.
