Sweet, my birthday is coming up.

So is mine…. but I'm not waiting! I just purchased a couple of the recorders. I've read about them and heard good things, and we were really anxious to try one. I don't pass up on good deals. *lol*

By the way, they kill you with the delivery charges!

They are amazing recorders. I am always amazed at the sound quality I get. Others in my group hate it when I give them my comparative recordings of what they thought were evp's. I am not saying this recorder cannot catch evp's, it does a fantastic job, it's just that when this is running in the presence of lesser recorders it sure does keep them honest. Also when you get your recorders, Zoom just released the 1.60 firmware update. Easy to do and it fixes several bugs.

To good to be true? It is.

I came across this about 2 weeks ago. When you add it to your shopping cart you'll see they are charging you about $50.00 in shipping. For my zip in VA it costs $46.51. I happened to enter a NY zip-10001 and it also added $10.48 in sales tax. There is another site I came across that has this exact layout and dos the same thing. Oh well…

Perhaps someone's zip code generates a cheap shipping for a great deal, but I doubt it.

They may be making money off the shipping, I've seen this a lot before.

I've contacted companies and paid for shipping myself, if they let you.

There's flat rate shipping now, across the country. The H2, probably fits in the small box.

I've known people with sites, who up the shipping for warehouse and packing fees.

It's common practice. You will get sales tax charged, if your state has it.

I try to look for free shipping on products. In the end most of the time it's a little cheaper, even though the shipping charges are added into the price, it's sometimes the realistic shipping charges.

Or on dealtime, I think you can punch in your zip, get prices with shipping. There are a few shopping sites that do that.

My husband had an internet biz for years. They get you one way or another. They are all competive usually and probably shop each other sites.

Good luck! /biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Yep. someone I know on another forum went to order one and declined after seeing the final shopping cart price. Apparently even despite the horrendous shipping, that sales tax is arbitrarily added no matter where you are ordering from. I guess it looks pretty shady after all. After shipping and everything, it all added up to about what I paid for mine to begin with, so no real bargain over current prices.

Bummer.

Yea, that's why I said they kill you with the shipping, but it works out evenly with other places considering they're an extra $50 elsewhere plus shipping. The recorder's worth it though, from what I hear, and soon enough we'll have our own info to post about it.
