I bought what I thought was a completely different model from what you have and re-looking at this thread and I realize it is the same one.

I'm ok with it not recording since it has a video out jack that I can plug into the EasyCap system I have and record from that. Taking it out tonight to see what is in an old mausoleum that I've been curious about.

I found mine at Harbor Freight. I had a 20% off coupon so it was about $100 new.

Good deal. Mine was a little more expensive but not much.

There are a few identical looking models that have different features. Mine does record video also. I am glad you can adapt yours for video. Please let us know how it works for you.

Still an old oven is pretty cool thing to find.

I found a place that I would like to have one of those things to look into. Mainly to settle my curiosity.

The examination went smoothly with only 2 personal experiences. The endoscope worked fine but had disappointing results. The room was only an old oven.

I think as I get more information I wiil post this under Paranormal Investigations even though it is only an examination thus far.

I got it for a specific use at the request of the owner of the house with the sealed room. However, it is a cool toy. I still don't understand why some people want to look into places a living human wouldn't go but there are other applications like looking into attics without crawling into the small openings or looking into crawl spaces where you can't fit. Looking into walls for critters making the noises people think are ghosts is also something this is good for. There are other practical uses too and it allows you to look with very little damage if any at all.

I thought it might be an easy and interesting experiment.

The photo above is of a small plastic one my kids have. I purchased a larger metal pin one on eBay for the experiment. The pins on the metal one are thinner and move easier.

I will also take and print out a photo of it in use and leave it with the toy. Like BornAware said. Although it is simple, a child from the distant past might not readly know what to do with it. Got to cover as many bases as I can.

How far does it see?

Like any normal camera to infinity and as close as a few inches. You can get one that isn't recordable on eBay for about $100. It is real simple to use. (which is good for me) and works well.

You can also get up to 2 - 3ft extensions (9ft reach) if you wanted to get real close up to something in an inaccessible area. Otherwise it will see the whole room as is.

It does have led lights in the tip so you can see in the dark but it only can see about 5 feet from the tip in total darkness.

Does anyone else want this just to see into those places we're not allowed to look into? I'm not saying start poking it under hotel room doors or occupied houses, lol, but those sealed doors and other unoccupied areas just to see what's there. This would be a fun toy to have.
