I hope not. I've been radiated with so much microwave radiation over the past decade that I'd probably be dead or insane according to this guy. The question is, do spirits who are recorded actually talk? If so, their voices would be audible at the time of recording, and not appear on the recorders as EVP's at a later time. So, a lot of it is when the voice is recorded and how it is recorded. If it is put there without the spirit using a voice, as we know it, then the fact that an aluminum box such as this would block out any sound doesn't really matter. Does it?

Depends on the energy used to imprint the "voice". I doubt that binary or ASCII data is psychically imprinted on the media. I would think that it would be transmitted through some other means.

I will look into the chicken wire mesh, though there are some who would say even that is not good enough. I am just trying to please the harshest critics, who in all likelihood will still find a problem in a setup if it produces positive results. The skeptics say there is a confirmation bias, but I also believe that there is a disbelief bias as well.

You won't be able to please harshest critics. There is no way someone without a large budget is going to block out RF and ESD completely. You can, however, cheaply get by killing "most of it". Hardening against ESD and most RF can be done cheaply as stated above and I think it is reasonable to anyone who's ever been in the field that heavily delves into RF and ESD theory.

I would think aluminum would be ideal because it can be molded to whatever shape best fits the situation. Here's a link to the site:

When someone says use a Faraday cage to block out RF signals, could I use an aluminum box to achieve the same function. Here is one I found online, and want to know if it would work before I buy any. I was thinking of purchasing 2, that way I could have one with a Zoom H2 by itself,and one with a Zoom H2 and the Tennessee Spirit Mike. No, I haven't given up on the Spirit Mike yet. Can any of you tech experts give me your thoughts on this?

Faraday Cages are made to really block ESD via what we used to call HCP (for the EMP blast after a nuke). It will of course also interfere with RF. However, you probably don't need a Faraday Cage if you don't want one. I'm not sure what bandwidth you guys are wanting to block in RF, but any metallic enclosed container will probably work for what you need.

From what I've read about faraday cages, that might work but it will block a lot of sound as well. Cheapest thing I know for faraday cages is screen mesh. Some metals work better than others like brass works the best from what I understand. The small the openings in the mesh the more RF will be blocked. And yes it does need to be grounded. I'd probably drill a hole and put a screw through it and attach a grounding wire.

Right, chicken wire is best for cheap applications in my opinion. The smaller the holes, the better. And grounding helps keep the ESD out (not RF) for sure.
