Hey-Ryan-Saw your question. I did toss this question out on several forums and so far the the consensus is would be great to have, but no correlative data so far. I may get one merely to support the theory that higher/lower ions counts affect peoples moods (the same way that high EMF does). Stay tuned.

I always thought that air ion meters were very succeptible to weather changes.

With that in mind they may be a good indicator device but not reliable for gathering

data on their own. Does the hair on my forearm count as a simple ion meter? /blink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I've heard of a few groups using them. I don't know if they go any results negative or positive. While we never know what piece of equipment will be the one to provide absolute proof of the paranormal, we must never stop thinking of things to do.

If you are really curious and you don't get a good answer here, I'd venture over to the TAPS 18+ forum and post over there in the serious investigator forum. Despite most opinions of the place there are some good people over there and I'm fairly sure there is at least one person there that has tried what you are asking.

One piece of gear that has always intrigued me is an Air Ion Counter. Before I drop $300 with Alpha Labs (so far the best low cost meter I can find), I would like to know if anyone has really captured good corroborating data with one. Meaning, either seeing an increase in +/- in ion counts while activity is present, or at the very least indentifying high + counts at a location thereby causing feelings of dread, fear, etc. I’m ok if this can only be used to debunk a location (such as you would indicating high EMF fields), but has anyone really found this to be the case? My research shows that although high concentrations of + ions can (in theory) cause feelings of ill will, + ions will attract the same concentrations of – ions so . . . . . ? I’m willing to add this if anyone has really shown this to be useful. Thanks!
