I would like to find a way to recreate the Philip experiment. I'm having trouble finding people to make the time commitment in my area (5 people, bi-weekly for a year).

Just read the article, had never read it before. I found it to be very fascinating, it would be great to be able to recreate this at some point. Wishful thinking I guess.

The Humphrey experiment didn't have the same results. So many things come into play - individual psychology, group dynamics...it's hard to know what really happened. I wonder if there is some kind of a web-based protocol that we can come up with for a similar experiment to do as a group - meet in chat every other week and attempt to conjure a spirit we made up.

So EE - with regard to your personal theory - if it opened a portal that something came through, why did the spirit respond as Philip (based on the personal history the experimenters made up for him)? Do you have theories on this?

It is common knowledge what a portal as well as an entity definition is. My original conversation is not this issue. Not on theoretical coherence, metapsychology and hermenentics, etc. That was my own personal insight only.

The problem here is I don't understand what is meant by "entity" or "portal." Beyond a metaphysical definition, which I'm sorry but I don't accept; I want something I can wrap my brain around, something definable. Beyond that, it's a "push." You believe, I can't conceive, and we're at a standoff. Surely you understand that a negative isn't proved, but a positive is offered, with evidence. Beyond that all is argument, touchy-feely philosophy that settles nothing.
