I would like to find a way to recreate the Philip experiment. I'm having trouble finding people to make the time commitment in my area (5 people, bi-weekly for a year).

Here is info about the Philip Experiment:

They actually created a ghost in this experiment. The implications fascinate me.

Yeah – me too. We need to get a few groups in a few areas doing it. See what comes of it. I came across one group who was unable to replicate the results in the Humphery Experiment.

I suspect that a portal was created for a paranormal entity to enter. It is a common fact that you can attract paranormal entities.

I believe in the paranormal because of my own experiences and I realize the possibilities of paranormal attraction.

Define with theoretical coherence, and concrete language, "portal." Then "entity." So one can test these ideas.

It is common knowledge what a portal as well as an entity definition is. My original conversation is not this issue. Not on theoretical coherence, metapsychology and hermenentics, etc. That was my own personal insight only.

So, my question to you is? Why do you want to test these ideas? To prove what? That my "personal" statement is false? That's ok? Everyone has their own personal beliefs.

The problem here is I don't understand what is meant by "entity" or "portal." Beyond a metaphysical definition, which I'm sorry but I don't accept; I want something I can wrap my brain around, something definable. Beyond that, it's a "push." You believe, I can't conceive, and we're at a standoff. Surely you understand that a negative isn't proved, but a positive is offered, with evidence. Beyond that all is argument, touchy-feely philosophy that settles nothing.

Google Huggle Telescope and pick any result. Then sit back in awe as I do so daily, with goosebumps. I'm not kidding.

I think it is interesting what theories can arise from the outcome of the Philip Experiment. The Humphrey experiment didn't have the same results. So many things come into play – individual psychology, group dynamics…it's hard to know what really happened. I wonder if there is some kind of a web-based protocol that we can come up with for a similar experiment to do as a group – meet in chat every other week and attempt to conjure a spirit we made up.

So EE – with regard to your personal theory – if it opened a portal that something came through, why did the spirit respond as Philip (based on the personal history the experimenters made up for him)? Do you have theories on this?

Nowhammies, I do have a theory however it will take some time for me to formulate it. In plain language when I get the time. /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

NoWhammies, you could try a "distributed" version of the Philip Experiment and use members over the internet. It isn't repeating the exact same experiment, but it might make for an interesting variation. Who knows what will happen?

Just read the article, had never read it before. I found it to be very fascinating, it would be great to be able to recreate this at some point. Wishful thinking I guess.
