GB, can you be more specific as to what I am looking at in this picture? I have recently purchased a true full spectrum camera (not like the moditronic, but open, unimpeded spectrum from 260nm all the way up to over 1000nm, no filtering) from another researcher in Tulsa OK. I find this pic very interesting, because it matches as similar anomaly that he captured with an identical camera, only the sparkle/flashing was inside a bedroom.

I am just wondering if this is a product of UV, or what. The pic you posted though matches the above anomaly perfect, so it is very intriguing. My group has purchased 2 of these cameras from this gentleman and we look forward to deployment on investigations...

I believe what you are seeing here is UV in motion being picked up by the device. That is why you can see the cars in the background moving back and forth. It is my understanding that it picks up the UV from many sources. I found an explanation here .

What I am wondering is if there is something similar to this that picks up energy patterns in their true form. What I am getting at is, if there is something like this and a spirit does emit some type energy pattern then we would be able to see it with such a device. Granted it is a stretch but I would think someone could make one if, one doesn't already exist.

An ideal device would only pick up certain energy patterns like a thermal imager picks up heat signatures. I think this device picks up all forms of energy including heat.

I may not be making myself clear. My mind is running in a few directions on this and I am not even 100% sure on what I am looking for just yet. It looks easy in my head but explaining it is a little more difficult. lol

Corona: ionization of air around a high voltage source.

I guess what I am curious about now is are we talking high voltage/low amperage fields such as static fields....would that do the trick, or are we talking voltages of extremely dangerous levels for corona detection. To me it would make the difference between a new avenue of paranormal detection or something to be discounted due to it's inability to manifest without dangerous voltage sources. What makes me excited about this in regards to reported paranormal accounts is that it is a perfect fit for elevated ion counts, static fields, and smell of ozone during manifestation.

I find it strange that the cat looks at the camera just before the "flashes" like something distracted it from its bath /unsure.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

I have been looking at them online and they are intriguing but I have to agree way too pricey for an experiment. However, there is always the chance someone out there that has access to one might use it to see if it would work on a ghost hunt. Would it pick up an energy source as subtle as a spirit?

I work at a power plant that connects to the 500KV grid, but we detect corona with an ultrasonic detector. It works great for finding pinhole leaks in piping as well. I've seen the UV corona cams, and just like thermal cams and fiber-optic boroscopes, they are some mighty spendy toys.

I have been looking at them online and they are intriguing but I have to agree way too pricey for an experiment. However, there is always the chance someone out there that has access to one might use it to see if it would work on a ghost hunt. Would it pick up an energy source as subtle as a spirit?

In the pictures you would see the actual electrical arc on the power pole or a fuzzy area when it was a corona discharge. If I remember correctly prices started in the $20K range and went up so it's pretty much out of the hobby budget, so I'm hoping to find someone that uses one.

Many power companies have a extreme/deep UV camera rig that is used to locate current leaks and corona discharges on power poles at the insulators. It may be that such a camera could "see" something that we are missing.

Attempting to triangulate the source of EVP will only lead to frustration and possibly madness, I know because I tried. What I did was to connect 4 microphones to a multichannel data logger that was connected to a laptop. The microphones were set at specific spots in the chapel of an old church that was known for it's activity. Knowing that sound travels at about 740 feet per second, I could calculate the source of a sound based on the time difference it was picked up at the different microphones. Noises that I could hear were easily to triangulate but EVPs were a different story. Often an EVP would only be picked up by one or two of the mics or sometimes all four, and usually there was no time lag between microphone locations. Sometimes an EVP would be picked up by mics at the far ends at the same time but there would be a delay for a mic located between the two. It made no sense, and then I had an unfortunate accident when adding a larger hard drive which damaged the laptop and so for various reasons the experiment was abandoned.

GhostBreakers mentioned "a thermal imager that could detect energy patterns".
