OfflineAh, but only that person would know, in their hard of hearts, if they really didn't want it to work, would be that person. Even so, the ideometer comes into play here as well. Even if they don't really want it to work, most people expect it to.
I really wanted mine to work. It didn't.
Maybe some day. lol

I'm assuming you know what my answer to this would be. Considering the raging skeptic that I am /wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='

OfflineI threw an Ouija Board away "twice," and it came back both times. I put "IT," and a book about Ouija Boards into a trash bag, put a twisty-tie on it, and threw it outside in the dumpster. About a week or so later, I found IT(and the book) back underneath by bed. I thought maybe I had "assumed" I threw it away. So, I got another trash bag, and another twisty-tie and threw them away, "again!" Okay, I was not amused, but "p*ssed." But, at the same time I was like, "This can't be!" I mean, I believe in the paranormal, because there are too many credible people who report things, but when it happens to you, you think, "No Way!"
So, I had "a little talk" with it, told "IT" that I was not impressed, and that I was "not intimidated," and so far(knock on wood), it has stayed away. That was about 6 or 7 years ago now, it's been awhile. Anyone ever have that happen to them, "a returning Ouija Board?"

One of my mom's best friends had this happen to her, too. It's always possible that people are just messing with others, but I've had enough weird stuff happen to me that I have to be at least open to the idea that they can, in fact, return from the trash.
I know that you're not supposed to burn them, for some reason, rather, rip them up. I'm not really sure of the purpose of that. Clearly, the board isn't sentient, something else is manipulating it. Maybe critters on the other side hate the sound of ripping cardboard. lol

OfflineI got my first Ouija board from a former teacher of mine who swore on her life that it was possessed by a spirit named Atlantic- the former king of the last city by the same name. Obviously with a fantastic claim like that I didn't believe her, but she remains convinced to this day that the spirit has tried to kill her multiple times- and once almost succeeded. (Apparently she kept the board in her garage near an ax that hung on the wall, and one day it fell down barely missing her.)
On a personal- I have often used ouija boards- different ones and types, usually while i was alone since I know very few people that are willing to participate in ghostly activities. The only time I'm ever able to get the planchet to move is when I put both my hands on it, and although I have gotten it to go at a decent speed, I'm pretty sure it was my own hand nerves and nothing more.
WOW !!!
When my teacher wanted to get rid of me she just sent me to the principals office.
OfflineThe most amusing thing I always find is, despite the power of the demons and evil spirits that these boards produce, bringing about death chaos and destruction, the planchette can't move unless someone is touching it……………
Kind Regards

Hello Baruc … I would love to hear from someone who says a planchette has moved on its own.
OfflineIt's going to sound like an urban legend, but I have talked to people who have claimed just that (the planchette moved on its own). That being said, I've never seen it happen, but then I've only used a Ouija board a handful of times.
Baruc is right. I believe many "divining" tools require a human to touch them because of the ideomotor phenomenon. I think pendulums and divining rods do the same thing. I once watched someone experiment with a pendulum by placing it in a sealed glass tube where no one was touching it and nothing could affect it. That sucker, which had been freely moving in someone's hand, didn't budge. I'd guess it's the same with a Ouija board.

OfflineI'm not sure that they could be considered an investigation tool as such, it would be using the paranormal to investigate the paranormal so to speak. Probably more a research subject in itself perhaps.
I can only comment that when I've tried to use something like this I've never had any success, the planchette / glass has always remained stationary. My ever lasting memories are just aching arms from holding my finger in situ. I must try harder I know.
Kind Regards
Baruc.
