I wouldn't say fraud since she is wondering if it's a real person or spirit. Looks like real person to me.
What about this photo from the same photo album?
http://www.facebook.com/photo……p?pid=3609…id=156684976761
OfflineThe person had other pics of reenactors, so I think it goes without saying in my opinion. I'm also not a history/civil war buff, but isn't that an enlisted cap with an officer's shoulder ranking? I don't know. Plus it looks like the guy is wearing Levis and some pretty new work boots! /biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' />
OfflineI think fake as it was halloween and she says she has many shots all with no eyes showing which means to me the guy didn't want to be identified. along with that everything seems too new and he is wearing a dress uniform which doesn't make sense,he is clean shaven too which was not to big back then. As for fraud or mistake I go with mistake
OfflineRegarding the first picture, I think it's a real person. First, why is she just taking random pictures and just happens to have this person smack dab in the middle and in focus. Another is the person's boots look too modern to me. I zoomed in and didn't make out much detail. Another is she states she was taking pictures with her Infrared camera, the colors are all wrong for infrared.
So I don't think it's a ghost or anything and I think the photo taker is a little confused on some stuff.

OfflineI did some checking as she began deleting my questions instead of answering them.
I asked a civil war reenactor who also does Gettysburg about the photo. He says there are several things wrong with the uniform and the kicker was…
He has seen him around town during reenactments. LOL
My deleted questions were why was she taking photos in a restricted area, at midnight, in total darkness. Although Sachs bridge is not part of the national park there are signs not to be there after dark.
Seems she is trying to take advantage of gullible people. That's deliberate deception to me… How sad.
OfflineI dont think they made stone washed denims in those times.
/tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' /> perhaps only the fashionably forward civil war soldiers wore them, rage.
yeah. too clean, too shaven, too modern…just 'too' everything. and that's one heck of an even flash for that large of an area. also, as ryan said the colors are all wrong for what she says she was using.

OfflineWOW! She deleted me from the comments, friends and blocked me. ?????
I guess she must be a fraud. What bothers me is that she has a web site too where she charges for her services. I wonder if she is a fraud there too? Briar Rose Reiki
I always wonder why people who ask for opinions get so mad when you give them. Did she really think people were going to believe it was a ghost?
OfflineThese are the posts before the deletions and her blocking me. I should have put her out there instead of being nice…
Interesting story to share…..Around midnight on Sach's Bridge this past Halloween, pitch blackness…shooting still pics with my infrared video…thinking no one on the bridge but my husband….all at once in the camera flash brightness….he appears facing me…..I just thought him a Civil War reenactor….took many photos, captured him in some, never spoke or made any gesture of recognition that I was there….in all my photos, never once captured his complete face……always looking down or away…..Eerie….your thoughts…….Reenactor or other visitor……….we left him there alone that night…….

Reenactor or someone trying to pull your leg? Uniform doesn't seem quite right for someone at the battle or in that time period.

the most eerie part is…..Every single picture I have of him……not one reveals his face…….and this is COMPLETE DARKNESS….he couldn't even see when I was filming………….

That was my conclusion….reenactor or someone dressed for the night doing an awfully good job….what was so bizarre is that I didn't even flinch either, which must have really messed with his head…..only later the eeriness of never having seen his face struck me odd……

seems like you would of gotten some kind of reaction if this had been a living man.

Unless he was posing… He looks too clean for one but nice pic.

We took several pics at different times just happening to catch him in the frame…..he was not standing still posing, the pics were taken at different spots along the bridge…that is what makes it so odd……in that darkness, not catching him looking ahead or up just once is very strange……….

Oh, you got several shots of him? That's great, can we see them too?

Why……are you starting to question your belief that he was just pulling my leg……./smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='

I never once looked into his eyes ….Reenactor I will let all of you come to your own conclusions, …..not even a flinch when the camera flash revealed him in the black of night………

Can't really form an opinion. Just not enough information. Still a nice pic.

That would be really creepy. As far as you can see was he alone on the bridge?

Shirl Knobloch
You have to realize that it is complete blackness out there….the only light comes from the flash of the camera…only saw him…..you would think someone would say hi, or sorry I startled you….but we both remained absolutely silent…….
it wasn't until I got back and looked at my photos did I realize that I didn't capture his total face in any of them…..he never looked at me.

I can only speak from my own experiences….I have seen both the grey haze often talked of and I have seen "unexplainable" things as clearly as if you stood beside me……I wish I had stayed at the Bridge to see him "leave" but I really wasn't thinking anything unusual until I got back and reviewed the pics and saw his face was never captured by the cameras of both myself and my husband. This is the strangest thing to have happened to me at Sach's Bridge……

If he is a reenactor he is very brave to stand on the bridge in total darkness all by himself.

that bridge always has people on it collecting "orb" pics. And he is a reenactor…as I have seen him in town a number of times.

Looks like he is wearing blue jeans so I'm thinking he might be a reenactor. If that would be a ghost soldier wouldn't he have the full uniform on? Very strange why he was on the bridge all alone though. And not to even look at you or say hi. That would have scared the heck out of me. Did you see any other cars parked around there?

I guess that's it then. He is a reenactor.

He may very well be….but amazing how one could recognize him from a picture where half his face is hidden….I will leave everyone to their own opinions on this. Sachs is still a place of extraordinary experiences……….

Pretty much of his face is visible in the only photo posted. If I knew him like the guy above I probably would recognize him too.
Still weird that he was hanging around in total darkness which makes it even creepier. Ghosts don't even do that often. I figured it was a real guy since it isn't the original Sach's bridge nor in it's original position. Be careful next time. Never know what would happen if you were alone…

OfflineNo, you weren't giving her a hard time, I think she realizes she's busted.
Its like a lawyer at the end of a trial where the evidence is overwhelmingly against them and they tell the jury it's up to you to decide, when they know they lost /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='

OfflineGive me a BREAK!!!!!!!!!!!
That is a reenactor. The uniform is toooooo pristene. And, jeans? Pleeeeezzzzzzz!!!!!!!!!! Also, they were lucky if they had boots of that quality. And, were they pointed toe? No! The sash? That is for parades.
The Union soldiers that were at the bridge during the battle were merely passing through on their way to the battle. After the battle, during the retreat, General Longstreet left a large contingent of seriously wounded men in that area (in the field across from the bridge) that he knew wouldn't make the trip back to Virginia.
Once I was at that same bridge late at night. My mom, my reenactor friend and his wife and a "ghosthunter." The "ghosthunter" was standing next to me taking pictures at the same time. We even exchanged words. In the meantime, my reenactor friend was sitting on the bridge abutment which sits at the entrance of the bridge.
One week later, I spotted a photograph on a site that this fool obviously took. It showed my reenactor friend sitting on that same abutment. The fool said that there was no one there at the time he took the photograph and didn't see the "soldier" at all.
The long and the short of it is I sent an identical photograph that I had taken standing next to the guy to the site, my reenactor friend sent an e-mail stating he was very much alive (along with his own personal photo in his uniform) and we busted the fool.
There is not a time of the year when you visit Gettysburg that you will NOT see reenactors walking around the town, on the battlefield and at Sach's Bridge. In the heat of summer and the ice cold of winter, they are here.
As I stated above, give me a break!
