I got a little bored just now and was browsing around in the sites that I have saved in my bookmark section. Some of them haven't been looked at in some time. I clicked this one and saw the button that they are demanding money in advance for anything that someone in help might need.

Honestly I take offense to this because that is not what I think groups should do. Also I don't approve of some of the language that is on the page, but that's just me there.

I'm wondering where others stand on this issue. Do you think groups should charge clients for something that hasn't been proved scientifically yet?

Do they want people to like them? Im in awe. Especially at their gull in what their time is worth and how "important" they are. "UNLESS YOU PAY US IN ADVANCE, DO NOT SEND US YOUR **** PHOTOS ANYMORE." Ok! Ill make sure not to send any GD business your way either.

Not just you. Even before I got to the sentence above I was already put off by them. I love the disclaimer at the end that they are not greedy /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' /> I guess its supposed to make it all better.

I certainly would never advertise my business ro service this way. Unbelievable if you ask me.

As to if people should be charged for things that cant be scientifically proved. In a way. If you have to travel a long way, I hink a little travel money is not too much to ask. But a flat fee per time spent for doing what your supposed to love? No way. Thats insane. You could go there and just stand in one spot the whole time.

Then again even if this was scientifically proved I would be against charging (other then as stated) if nothing came of it. To me thats like paying someone to mow your grass for just looking at it. They came, but did nothing.

Remember, dogs and cats are better than kids because they:

(1) eat less,

(2) don’t ask for money all the time,

(3) are easier to train,

(4) normally come when called,

(5) never ask to drive the car,

(6) don’t smoke or drink,

(7) don’t want to wear your clothes,

(8) don’t have to buy the latest fashions,

(9) don’t need a gazillion dollars for college and

(10) if they get pregnant, you can sell their children ..

This page makes me sick and very angry. I can't even….it makes me very upset knowing that someone who is in need and is scared etc might see this and think that's the only way they can get help and that that's the way all ghost hunters are. And I can't believe how arrogant they are. Just wow.

Unbelievable… First charge for something to get someone's opinion on, but before that – be insulting to them? LoL Yeah… good luck with that!

Tom it works for American Airlines ! I think they may be on to

a new form of advertisement aimed primarily at sado-masochists.

If you want to get attention, attitude sells. His website is also in my favorites, last time I had looked he had put things on hold and wasn't willing to accept any cases, but he would only charge for travel back then. Personally I don't care if he charges for his opinions. I doubt if anyone actually looking for help would just happen onto his site. Since he is charging for his services, it opens up a whole new realm of possibilities if the person seeking help does not feel that they have received value for their payment, such as fraud charges.

There are examples of similar business models where people charge for opinions and help in an unproven field. Feng shui masters command exorbitant consulting fees, just to tell you that your yin and yang are not in balance and your life would be more harmonious if your TV was against a different wall and your sofa a different color. I don't see a lot of difference.

Wow, swearing at potential clients? That would get me fired in a nanosecond. How in the world did they come up with the exact amount of $9.75 for fifteen minutes?

Eh, I got nothin'

I don't know why certain individuals seem to keep failing the reading comprehension portion of this – let me reiterate again by typing slowly and in all caps.

UNLESS YOU PAY US IN ADVANCE, DO NOT SEND US YOUR G oddamn PHOTOS ANYMORE.

Not for naught but it would be fun to see if this organization has a tax number

supplied by the Illinois Comptroller.

I like the updated announcement………

SPI has curtailed involvement in active investigations. The reason for this is manifold, but primarily for the following…

My favorite is this one………

4. The field has gotten too crowded with amateurs, morons, and time-wasting crazies. /blink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

Sounds like someone has some anger issues….

Whammies reading it was like watching a slow motion train wreck. No matter

how hard a tried I had to read to the end. It is classic though that they point out that

the field has been over run with half-wits and crazies. I guess to each their own ! /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

That seems kind of tacky. /unsure.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' />

I get that they need money to run the site and their business, but it would be more polite to explain their process first. It's also odd that every thing is labeled "priority" in huge font.

Whoever said 'nothing is impossible' never tried nailing Jell-o to a tree.

Ironically, under their Ghost Hunting 101 page it states "Investing in ghost hunting is better suited for personal enrichment and helping others rather than financial gain or thrill seeking. Otherwise, you may burn out very quickly."

I guess they don't practice what they preach.
