I've heard stuff to this effect before and do not find it shocking. Wasn't Weiner the front runner to take Bloomberg's spot as Mayor in the next Mayoral election for Manhatten?

Just a note if I were his wife, I would do everything in my power to eradicate ALL TRACES of him from my life on every level and then set about the mechinization to insure/further his COMPLETE ruin! It seems the only thing this woman has done wrong was underestimate what a completely self destructive and delusional perv he is. I'm not going to sit here and say that I don't have a kinky side, but I would never do anything to humiliate Monkette or ruin her reputation. Clearly he doesn't have any such compunctions.

Yes, he was going to run for Mayor in NYC. Probably would have run. Then again I don't live in NYC so I couldn't have voted against him.

Here, here! Couldn't have said it any better myself. I'm tired of these folks going to rehab and the women who stand by them! Of course, I remind myself that I have not walked a mile in her shoes but I hope if something like this ever happened in my marriage I wouldn't stay with the nasty a$$ loser. Good riddance to bad rubbish, I say!

Most of these women that marry these politicians know full well what they are like. In my opinion. A light switch doesn't go off turning these guys into what they are. Does anyone think Hillary didn't know Bill was the way he was way before he ever got elected? Or Weiner? There are some women who see a powerful man in politics or sees something in one prior and wants to be a part of that. With power comes money. And its not just politics. I see in the private sector where young women will marry a rich older man.

Note: I am not lumping all women into that catagory. Just the ones who marry these guys who think they can get away with what ever they want to do. And then act all shocked that it happened…IMO.

PS: Does any woman who marries a mobster not know he was a mobster? /rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I'm not always right but I'm never wrong.

The above are my opinions.

Now you know how I feel and I'm not going to say that Weiner's wife knew or didn't know. I'm giving the woman the benefit of the doubt on this case, but I will repeat one of the qoutes that always rings true when dealing w/politicians. Politics makes strange bed fellows. It's interpretation can be both literal AND metaphorical. I have no doubt in my mind that some of these "power couples" use the personal quirks of the other as leverage to advance their aspirations and I think it would be naive to think that this sort of arrangement doesn't happen from time to time. I don't think that's the case here w/das Veiner but I'm sure there are some well known figures that this is the case.

Not to defend the guy, but sexting isn't nearly as bad as having semen found on an interns dress and the semen belonging to the President. I don't remember the Democrats asking him to resign. Heck he is now making millions on speeches and his wife is Secretary of State. Got to love the Democrats for their double standards.

What is happening to Mr. Weiner is just a bunch of bologne. (sorry couldn't resist) /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

New York will become the sixth state where gay couples can wed and the biggest by far.

New York approves gay marriage

Woot!

Imagine there's no heaven, it's easy if you try.

When this occurs, dissent becomes an object of surprise, if not resentment.

My oldest daughter is a bit of an activist for this social issue. I asked her if she and her live in boyfriend were ever going to get married and she said that they have talked about it and would like to get married but will wait until it's legal for ALL their friends to have the same right to get hitched. Gotta say that I'm kind of proud that I raised someone with a social conscience. Sometimes I am taken aback about how the world is progressing but times they are a- changing and I embrace equality in regards to marriage, adoption and employment. I think that LBGT have the same rights simply because they are Americans first and foremost and so they, too should have the right to the pursuit of happiness protected by our constitution. I know lots of folks say that it is immoral and unnatural but I wholeheartedly disagree. I think it is immoral and unnatural to not allow folks to be who they really are and to live a normal life with the person who they love. As always, this is my opinion which is formed from over 45 years of life experiences. I have changed my views many times throughout my life but this is how I feel today about marriage equality.

Lots of folks are getting hitched in Ireland as well….since last January. Europe has been very progressive in recognising civil rights, so as long as they are happy Good Luck to them!

That is actually very progressive for a country that is mostly Catholic. Cheers!

So I was watching the local news over the weekend and they were doing a feature on a Danville, CA based do gooder who founded the company Troops Direct. Basically they send care packages to the Marines deployed in Afghanistan and Iraq (I guess). The items that really stuck out in my mind were stretchers (for those injured in the field) and blue chalk powder to mark where roadside bombs have been found (I guess it's like plum (b?) line chalk), because up until then they'd been using….BOTTLECAPS. I understand that getting stuff to our troops in Afghanistan is a logistical nightmare, but seriousily, a civilian can send that stuff and get it to the troops in the field better then the Pentagon? REALLY??? Does that bother anyone else? I mean just on the surface it bothers me that the troops are there at all but then for them to NOT be properly supplied…that really grinds my gears. It's not the first time I've heard stories of civilians stepping forward to donate supplies to the troops. A few years ago I heard about families banding together to raise money to fully armorize Humvees for their loved ones units because not all the humvees come that way because there isn't a budget for it…WTF is that? How arrogant, but please by all means make sure the politicians have golden parachute retirement plans in place….disgusting.

Is it wrong that I'm enjoying this Murdoch scandal so much? I mean honestly, every time I check google news' web page it seems like someone new is resigning or being arrested in connection w/the scandal, it just seems to be a runaway train at this point….WOW!!! Now the whistle-blower has been found dead and one of those hacker groups have attacked their websites??? OMG!!! IT'S JUST UNREAL!!

What about the story about the pharmaceutical CEO? How strange is this story: his son falls down the stairs while his GF is watching him, then the GF is found hanging off the balcony of the house by his brother who's living in the guest house. CEO was out of town at the time.

Sadly, the little boy died two days after the woman was found.

Very strange.

I'm no fan of this girl, but that's wrong! Why would they take the chance of losing their job (furthering damaging their credibility) and not correcting the issue when you can. It's sort of like a white lie, bending the truth or not telling the WHOLE story. Well when they screw up a case they really go for the gusto eh?

Briefly skimmed this one and that's just horrifying. Where is this guy that he didn't come home when his son died? I'll have to check this out a little more closely.

Still no further word in to the death of the whistleblower yet, but DID see how someone tried to smack Rupert Murdoch w/a shaving cream pie in Parliament, again, no fan of this pile of donkey dung but what's up w/security that this guy could even get through??? Odd.
