Most importantly we agree that the media REALLY needs to stop following her around for the sound bytes. It's simple, don't cover her and she'll go away.

I'll just put in two last cents…If any of us talked long enough there would certainly be some sound bite that would make even the smartest member of mensa look like a drooling fool with the IQ lower then a box of rocks.

God knows I've put my foot in my mouth so many times that when I buy shoes I have to buy 2 pair so I can have a third for my mouth.

Now with that said…How about them Yankees?

I'm not always right but I'm never wrong.

The above are my opinions.

I have both feet in my mouth so often that it's a wonder I can walk. I can't imagine what an arse I'd make of myself if I were in the spotlight all the time. The mind reels.

I don't have much interest in baseball, but my 5 year old niece and nephew (twins) are playing in a t-ball tournament this weekend. Does that count? /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

Has anyone else been following the e coli story in Europe? Not only is it an extremely dangerous strain, they still don't know the source, which is really scary. /blink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

Now we've had a child die here in the US, but it seems it was a different strain of e coli. Two more are really sick.

I hope everyone is taking precautions. This article has the details.

Sure T-Ball counts….

…and talking about T-ball…Anthony Weiner admited yesterday to posting/sending pics all over the place. I guess after a week of lying….he really truely is an Anthony Weiner.

I'm not always right but I'm never wrong.

I loved the Drudge headline: "Whacked, not hacked."

So much for being framed.

The man is a complete idiot. Of course, he refuses to resign, though. Anyone willing to bet that he actually gets censured by the ethics committee?

Just when you thought the Weiner story was over, we find out that there's a new twist: his wife is pregnant. Holy quacamole!

The point about powerful women getting the brunt of crap resonated with me. Remember how everyone treated Clinton when she ran? The media? There were people in her own party calling her some pretty unsavory names. When she was at an event, some men (and I use that term loosely) started yelling that she should iron their shirts. That's the day I became a Clinton supporter. She had the MOST primary votes in HISTORY for any candidate. And you see what happened with that.

I can't stand Palin either, but speaking as a woman, the constant barrage against her and her family needs to tone the hell down.

Kat's point about women tearing other women apart is very, very true. They can be vicious. I'm willing to bet a lot of them haven't picked up a history book or studied basic Sociology to learn about what women have gone through to get where we are today, and what is still going on in this country and abroad, based on their behavior and words. It's appalling.

As far as the term feminist is concerned, it's had a huge negative light cast on it because of these fringe groups. True feminists are not man-hating, Dr. Marten-wearing, narrow-minded kooks. It's supposed to come from a place of love, support, and fighting for what's just.

In fact, this topic was one teensy little morsel that inspired me to go into Sociology, Human Services, and concentrate on Women's and Children's issues. My job is related to this cause as well. I feel strongly about it. Sorry. /biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

Anyway, thanks for letting me in on the rant. /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

I absolutely agree with you about the term "feminist". I call myself an "equalist" because I want equal rights with men. Nothing more, nothing less.

My pet peeve is women who don't vote, or worse, vote for who their husband tells them to (and yes, it happens). When you think about what some women went through to get us the right to vote, it just infuriates me! /angry.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

There's my rant for the day.

She's the real victim in this whole thing.

I really, really like that, Kat. I may have to use that term from now on, because it's how I feel about it, too. /biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

I thought it was absolutely shocking when both the Washington Times and the New York Times went after Sarah Palin with talons extended, asking for volunteers to go through her emails with a fine tooth comb, looking for damaging information.

As always, though, Sarah comes through unscathed. When are these idiots going to learn that they can't take her down? Talk about a bad investment!

Harold Camping, Rapture predictor extraordinaire, has suffered a stroke. Too bad he couldn't predict that!

He's a local out here (he's from Alameda which is just down the road a piece) and they were all over that story.

We have been following the Casey Anthony murder case and heard that they may call a psychic as a witness for the defense. The fact that this child died and left in the woods is truly despicable. I hope that somehow the truth will come to light. If Casey is lying about her father, I just don't see how he could EVER forgive her. So messed up!

Now there are pictures of Weiner in women's lingerie? Eeeew!!! Will this guy just resign already?

I'm sure he'll try blaming these pictures on a "right wing conspiracy" or hackers, too. /angry.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I sort of know the peripherals of this thing but it's so disturbing to me, that I've not been following it as closely. I DO KNOW that there was a big hoohaa the other day about the people waiting in line to witness it, that's disturbing as well. Grotesque is the word that spring to mind on that, these people are squabbling over their place in line to watch the proceedings of a heinous crime against a child? That's f'd up…sorry it has to be said.

I would say she did know. Really do people think he didn't do this with her before and after they were married?

EDIT: Just want to add…being from New York and living close to NYC where Weiner is from…he and his 'mentor' Chucky Cheese Schumer are two of the nastiest people around. In my humble opinion. /cool.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I've heard stuff to this effect before and do not find it shocking. Wasn't Weiner the front runner to take Bloomberg's spot as Mayor in the next Mayoral election for Manhatten?

Just a note if I were his wife, I would do everything in my power to eradicate ALL TRACES of him from my life on every level and then set about the mechinization to insure/further his COMPLETE ruin! It seems the only thing this woman has done wrong was underestimate what a completely self destructive and delusional perv he is. I'm not going to sit here and say that I don't have a kinky side, but I would never do anything to humiliate Monkette or ruin her reputation. Clearly he doesn't have any such compunctions.

Here, here! Couldn't have said it any better myself. I'm tired of these folks going to rehab and the women who stand by them! Of course, I remind myself that I have not walked a mile in her shoes but I hope if something like this ever happened in my marriage I wouldn't stay with the nasty a$$ loser. Good riddance to bad rubbish, I say!
