OfflineAs I write this, we had a 3.1 about 10 miles ESE of my office here in Stroud, Ok about 1 hour ago. This is bizarre, 3 in 9 days, same spot. Oklahoma rarely has any seismic activity outside of the Meers fault, and east of Jones (Which has had as much seismic activity this year as it had all of last year). Something is going on here locally, I can't help but think that there is an increase in frequency…

Some say the end is near.
Some say we'll see armegaden soon.
I certainly hope we will.
I sure could use a vacation from this,
bull-sh!t, three-ring, circus, side-show of freaks,
here in this hopeless f#$@ing hole we call LA.
the only way to fix it is to flush it all away.
Any f#$@ing time, any f#$@ing day.
learn to swim, see you down in Arizona bay.
Fret for your figure and
Fret for your latte and
Fret for your lawsuite and
Fret for your hair-piece and
Fret for your prozac and
Fret for you pilot and
Fret for you contract and
Fret for you car.
It's a bull-sh!t, three-ring, circus side-show of freaks,
here in this hopeless f#$@ing hole we call LA.
The only way to fix it is to flush it all away.
Any f#$@ing time, any f#$@ing day.
Learn to swim see you down in Arizona bay.
Some say a comet will fall from the sky,
Fallowed by meteor showers and tidal waves
Fallowed by fault lines that can not sit still
Fallowed by millions of dumb-founded dipsh!ts.
And some say the end is near,
Some say we'll see armegaden soon.
I certainly hope we will.
I sure could use a vacation from this,
Stupid sh!t.
Silly sh!t.
Stupid sh!t.
One great big festering neon distraction,
I have a suggestion to keep you all occupied.
Learn to swim. Learn to swim. Learn to swim.
Mom's gonna fix it all soon.
Mom's coming round to put it back the way it aughta be.
F@*k L. Ron Hubbard
And f@*k all his clones.
F@*k all these gun toting,
Hip-gangster wanna be's
F@*k retro anything
F@*k your tattoes
F@*k all you junkies and
F@*k your short memories
F@*k smiley glad-hands with hidden agendas.
F@*k these disfunctional, insucure actresses.
I'm praying for rain
I'm praying for tidal waves
I wanna see the ground give way
I wanna watch it all go down
Mom please flush it all away
I wanna see it go right in down
I wanna watch it go right it
Watch you flush it all away
Time to bring it down again
Don't just call me a pessimist
Try to read between the lines
I can' imagine why you wouldn't
Welcome any change my friend

OfflineSo, what does everyone think about the huge earthquakes we've been having?
Normal seismic activity over time that doesn't indicate anything unusual?
U.S. will have a large quake next?
Heading toward doomsday?
No doomsday stuff, IMO.
After one or two large earthquakes, I would imagine that there is a ton of shifting that goes on. I think that's the case here. These fault lines span so far and wide that one can affect the other.
Will the U.S. have one? Who's to say, but I wouldn't surprised.
In the end? Normal seismic activity that happens to be coming more frequently. One would have to study, in depth, earthquake trends of the last, oh, I don't know, couple of thousand of years, to find out if there is any definite pattern going on.

OfflineI'm leaning toward normal seismic activity and one big quake affecting other areas.
Chile has about 1-2 earth quakes off shore every day for the last week. Between high 4's low 5's magnitude.
Almost the same for Argentina.
I don't know if this is the norm for Chile, or just after the big quake.
I've been looking at sites that record world activity for the past few weeks.
Alaska, has quite a few.

Beach jogger likely never saw or heard plane
Man was listening to iPod when fatally struck by small aircraft in S.C.
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The kit-built single-engine plane was gliding quietly as it came down for an emergency landing on a beach. Pharmaceutical salesman Robert Gary Jones, listening to his iPod while jogging, likely never saw or heard it before the aircraft hit him from behind and killed him.
"There's no noise," aviation expert Mary Schiavo, a former inspector general for the National Transportation Safety Board, said of the Monday evening accident. "So the jogger, with his ear buds in, and the plane without an engine, you're basically a stealth aircraft. Who would expect to look up?"
The 38-year-old Jones, whose mother said he was serious about nutrition and exercise, especially jogging, was on a business trip to Hilton Head for GlaxoSmithKline. He was looking forward to getting home to the northern Atlanta suburb of Woodstock, Ga., for his daughter's third birthday Wednesday, Pauline Jones said.

Wait, I thought this person died in Florida a few years back…how on earth did she come back and become an aviation expert of all things? Well, it just goes to show, if it's your time, it's your time. At least he was doing something he enjoyed and never saw it coming! Small consolation but there are worse ways to go.
