Yep, just do what you regularly do but without smoking /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I might be lying, but I'm telling the truth

Wow – good luck to you. I've heard that quitting smoking is quite a challenge. I know one friend who uses one of those nicotine inhalers that looks like a cigarette. She actually likes it. I dunno if that accomplishes your goal or not…

I actually have some of those…I might have to give them another try.

I smoke when stressed but am not your typical "addict". I will crave one, but I can say no. Too expensive, dont feel like going to the store, etc can all keep me from having one even when wanting. So for me its as easy as, dont do it. Its annoying to want it but really it doesnt distract me if I do something. You could try that, but Im thinking it will be harder for you. Iv heard eat. But if you want to do this without gaining weight I suggest eating frozen grapes (they are actually pretty good). Or fresh might keep if your cravings get that bad. They have pills to ween yourself off. Gum, patches, etc. One of my friends started eating radishes! He said, they are so strong it pulls down the craving. You may even find a whole new way!

Remember, dogs and cats are better than kids because they:

(1) eat less,

(2) don’t ask for money all the time,

(3) are easier to train,

(4) normally come when called,

(5) never ask to drive the car,

(6) don’t smoke or drink,

(7) don’t want to wear your clothes,

(8) don’t have to buy the latest fashions,

(9) don’t need a gazillion dollars for college and

(10) if they get pregnant, you can sell their children ..

I know what you mean with the craving.

What finally got me to stop using smokeless tobacco (I dipped for around 23 years) was when the dentist did a biopsy on a patch of Leukoplakia. Being a form of precancer, I sweated it out for 2 weeks waiting on the results. The feeling I had as the oral surgeon stood over me cutting a chunk out of the inside of my mouth was dreadful. I vowed then and there to quit, even though I had tried to quit countless times throughout the years. One month later, through the help of the nicotine patch, I had quit. And even though my last dip was over 3 years ago (December 9, 2006), I still crave tobacco every now and then.

The thing is, being faced with possibly dying made me really reevaluate my life. That retrospection coupled with meeting the one who has motivated me to reach and become all I can be, is the reason I am where I am today. Without all that I doubt this website would be here, and more than likely there would be no Paranormal Underground Magazine.

Ooooh withOUT starting another…I was going to recommend heroin to take the edge off the craving but yeah that's not what this is about. j/k…or am I.

As a former smoker, I can tell you it ain't easy I stopped and restarted several times but I finally quit when I came out here to the left coast. What is critical is break some of your "smoker tendencies". What I found is if I keep myself busy when I have the "cravings", I can get alot done. I was a complete and utter clean freak for a long time (still am sort of) after quitting. Any little tedious errand you've been putting off…do it. It's key, IMHO, to keep yourself busy and eventually you'll find yourself not missing it as much. I did one of those new age cleanses (the lemonade master cleanse to be exact) and you can't be imbibing in ANY sort of drug or alcohol (nicotene and caffeine included). I went to sleep on Friday night and sort of slept off an on all weekend and when Monday morning rolled around, I didn't have the craving anymore period. No withdrawals no crappy disposition, it was a wondrous feeling. Plus you begin to be able to get your sense of smell and taste back which is nice. I completely sympathize w/what you're attempting and good luck!
