That's one thing you can definitely say about cable television as opposed to the major networks. They are very thorough at giving each of their shows plenty of airtime.

I saw the epi last night and started laughing when I realized that Jay Thomas was the narrator! He was on Howard Stern's show on Sirius/Xm radio 2 weeks ago promoting the program, but I only caught a couple snippets of the interview. For the record Whammies, you did....

Now I have an embarrasing confession to make. All I really knew about the story was that it involved snow, trains and people dying PERIOD. So only having the barest bones knowledge, I found the segment to be not only compelling but also informative. Your passion for the subject was CLEARLY evident and you were succinct (sp?) and very polished! GOOD ON YOU!

The show is Volume 2. It is the show that has the LaBrea Tarpits and the UFOs on it. The Wellington segment appears at about :20 or so past the hour - maybe a bit later.

Symp - to answer your question - the sconces are actually in the Museum's archive and not on display. One of the amazing things for me was getting to look at and hold those artifacts from the train. I've seen a few artifacts down in the ravine at Wellington, but mostly scrap metal from the outside of the train. The archive was incredible. Jim, Tanner and I were given somewhat free run of the archive as long as we touched nothing and had a curator following us. I was actually more excited about poking around in the archives and having that kind of access than I was doing the show! They had Rube Goldberg devices, an old 1800s diving suit complete with shoe weights and a wooden air tank, Native American longboats, cannon balls and other missiles, a whole collection of Seattle Supersonics stuff, and amazing things from Seattle's Maritime history. Honestly - it was just fantastic. An amazing place, and I'm so grateful I got to do it!
