OfflineI have to attend my nephew's graduation party tonight. Which will bring me into contact with my snotty, snobby sister-in-law. I once advised her, well into my cups, that her Dad was a tilesetter for crissakes, and to get off her tall horse. She disliked Mrs. Dawkins Uno, and knowing her feelings about Hispanics, I'm pretty sure of her opinion of Mrs. Dawkins Dos. I can't be positive, but I have this feeling I will be posting later on the dumbest thing you've ever done thread. It's almost as if I can't help myself; though perhaps you couldn't either after cocktails and a few hours with this . . . woman.

Ah, I feel for you, dude. My mother was resistant to my dating Mr. Diaz but I ignored her, and I'm glad I did. He's the best friend any one could ever have and he'd work his heart out for you. I hope it turned out well.

It was sort of a draw. My SIL was too busy to engage us beyond, and I kid you not, a comment to my wife.
"I didn't remember your English being this good! How good for you!!"
I don't know how my wife refrained from pouring her wine over the beyotch's head.

Wow, your wife deserves an award for graciousness. Geez Louise!

She didn't respond because she knows how much brothers love each other, beyond the macho. But I can tell you without question that in a private conversation, my wife wouldn't tolerate this nonsense.
As a parenthetical, my Mom's name is Louise, and at 84, she paraded my wife around proudly, introducing her to all that would hear as her new daughter-in-law.
Gotta love German-American tenacity.
