Subliminal Advertising?

I just finished reading a book titled "Mind Programming: From Persuasion and Brainwashing, to Self-Help and Practical Metaphysics" by Eldon Taylor.

The book touches on subliminal advertising quite a bit and it got me to thinking about the subject. This was a topic I thought that was left in the 50-60s.

My wife and I were out to dinner awhile back at one of our not so usual dives when she happened to glance at our table advertisement card, I saw her do a double-take. I couldn't believe what we were looking at either. So I stole it and scanned it for opinions.

This was not altered by me in anyway. I don't want to give away what it is I think we're seeing, I don't believe I need to. It's rather blatant IMO. Or just some good ole pareidolia maybe… you be the judge.

So if you get a hankerin' for Breaded Mushrooms and Fried Green Beans…. /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

Well, we have the female perspective from Heidi /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

Don't neglect the Breaded Mushrooms, without trying to be "raunchy" there is (or appears to be) something for the guys there, something familiar. According to the book, we pick up on this stuff subconsciously and it's supposed to supplant one desire for another sort of juxtaposing them… I don't know if this stuff works if it is indeed what is at play here, because we had the unadvertised nachos.

I remember during the 80s and 90s when Camel had the whole "Camel Joe" campaign going on that people said that the Joe's nose was phallic

but then Camel apparently has had a long history of doing stuff like this…the average pack of Camels for instance supposedly has a naked man holding his weenie imbedded in the camel's body. If you look closely at the camels front legs where they link up to the camel's torso, there "appears" to be a man facing the camel's back legs…it looks alot like the fountain statuette of the little boy peeing that were popular back in the day…i've enclosed imagery of both..

there used to also be talk that the back of ritz crackers had S E X spelled out on the back from the oven scorches where they were baked…I guess everything does taste better when it's sittin' on a ritz!

Hysterical!

(On another note … I've never even heard of fried green beans.)

They have fried everything; fried mac and cheese, fried Snicker bars, fried ice cream, the list goes on.

What I find interesting about the whole thing is the name of the author: Eldon Taylor. We have a guy at work who is our educational instructor with that name.
