It has been announced Joe Paterno and school president Graham Spanier have lost their jobs effective immediately.

It's about time! There is no way he should have been afforded the dignity of retirement. Firing him was absolutely the right way to go. Now what I want to know is: Why is McQueary(sp?) out too? He should be swept away with the rest of the trash.

Imagine there's no heaven, it's easy if you try.

If they are serious about cleaning house and bringing integrity and honor back to the program you must ELIMINATE EVERY TRACE OF THIS SCANDAL AND THE PARTICIPANTS. The NCAA should offer the members of the football team (players only) who want to continue their atheletic/academic endeavors to continue elsewhere and extend to them an additional year of eligibility if they want to transfer out. They should reach out to Tony Dungy to become either the AD and/or Head Coach of the football team. But McQueary should be outenzee! I'm not sure if there should be charges levied against him as he not only reported it to the head of the football program, but also the AD and apparently the school president. He's guilty of not breaking up the assault while it was happening and not going to the police, which I think is cowardly BUT HE DID go to his bosses and "superiors" to report it, THEY FUMBLED the ball hard on this one.

This is the part about him that KILLS me. How could you not stop the abuse you were seeing with your very own eyes? Was he insane!? I don't care who was abusing that boy, superior, respected person, whoever, I would have gone after him with my bare hands to help that child out. How can you not do anything? My mind is boggled by that.

Imagine there's no heaven, it's easy if you try.

I don't understand it either Born……actually the actions by all are hard to understand……and unfortunately we never will.

Well, Penn State has asked McScarty not to be at the game on Saturday…FUMBLE PENN STATE. They've said that they're doing it because of death threats against him….(loud error buzzer sound effect here) WRONG ANSWER….AGAIN. FIRE HIM. They've already done the hard part and fired Paterno and the PSU president, now finish the deal and FIRE McQueardy (whatever his name is). Personally, even though the team itself is not guilty of anything, the administration should do the right thing and forfeit the rest of the games. PENN STATE IS NOT ABOVE THE LAW and ARE SUBJECT TO THE SAME LAWS AS THE REST OF US!! C'mon Penn State it's time to start cleaning up this mess if the NCAA doesn't step in to impose some sort of restrictions then you need to "man up", bite the bullet and SELF impose some penalties of austerity upon yourself. SHOW the rest of us that you are deeply remorseful about what's happened and making the tough moves NOW to bring some justice for those who've been hurt and just NOT sorry that you got caught in a cover up.

Just a heads up to all of you following this story, there now appears to be a major component of this story that's about to break coming out of Boston that's going to make what's happened so far look like a cautionary tale….the rumors I'm hearing, is that human trafficking is involved in this case. I sincerely hope that it's not the case…but just fair warning

McQueary placed on administrative leave. We can only speculate what will happen next in this unfolding story.

Have you seen a picture of this guy McCreary? He's a monster, he's like 6-4 230lbs (at least) and he was afraid to get physically involved in stopping Sandusky….holy cow man, get some testosterone holmes!

On a seperate note, it looks like the Phillies are going to sign Papplebon 4 years around $50 million….

Whoa! That would take this whole sordid tale to another level. When is this supposed to break?

There are apparently reporters based out of Boston AND Pittsburgh following the trail of the Sandusky charities. The reporter out of Pittsburgh says that it's looking like it may even involve boosters of PSU. There's a belief that this is why the case has been pushed back from this week up coming to the first week of december.

I also understand that the authorities in Texas are now getting involved as well because Sandusky was on the team when they made their Alamo appearance in '99. Apparently he brought a little boy along and it was not long after this that he tendered his resignation (forced out?).

It just gets crazier and crazier. Not to mention more sad with each new detail that emerges.

Well, for all you Eagles fans out there, stick a fork in them. They have zero shot of making the playoffs. The losses they've suffered this year basically eliminates ALL the tie breakers so there's NO SHOT. I'm so glad they offered a big contract to Vick so he can throw picks left right and center. Not that Kevin Kolb is much better but still holy crap man.

Yeah Monk you are right…They haven't toured in years. Don Henley hasn't written a good song in years…And even though it wasn't done by the group I thought Smugglers Blues was pretty good…Oh wait…you meant the football team.

Never mind.

I thought the SNL skit with Jesus and Tim Tebow was funny. Why can't the pious folk enjoy a laugh? No harm, no foul. Hey, even Tim Tebow told his own pastor to lay off the "we won because TT prays" crap.

Me too, but then it wasn't about me. Perhaps I would feel differently if it were. Religion is one of those issues like politics that is very polarizing. Personally, I don't think it cool to mock the man because of his faith (like the Detroit Lions did) but if you're going to put it out there like that, then don't be shocked if not everyone gets on board with you. In this age of ultra politicial correctness it's bound to offend someone.

Okay so they have a shot of making the playoffs with a lot of help….but again, they just can't keep their mouths shut. 2011 will be forever remembered as the year the philly teams underacheived….what a bummer.

okay, so now they are officially out and as much as it galls me to say it…they ain't good enough for the playoffs and this is a godsent! They were a one and done team anyway.

So I was listening to some sports talk radio today and the callers were getting all over Jerry Jones for showing up on the sideline during the first quarter of the Eagles/Cowbells game this past weekend to speak to his head coach. Apparently he's been taken a beating from the media and fans for doing so. JJ claims he simply wanted to let the HC know that he'd just gotten the results on the xrays of Romo's hand and he was injured but could play, but reminded him that the NY Giants won so the game was meaningless. Now as a life long Eagles fan I LOATHE the Cowboys and confess to taking a great deal of personal delight watching him squirm and suffer when they lose, the more heartbreaking the loss…the better. That having been said, while I am not crazy about his presence on the sideline, I do RECOGNIZE his RIGHT as the owner of not only the team BUT ALSO the stadium to be anywhere he pleases. Is it a distraction, yeah, but he's footing the bill so I can live with it. But can I go on record as saying I LOVE his PASSION for the game?! Are there times when I find his ego to be a bit much, of course, but hey the man is bigger than life, he loves his team and city and you get the impression that he's not JUST a businessman….HE'S A FAN!!! And I do love that about him! Is he any different than the rest of us when our team is playing? The passion, the raw emotion…good on you Jerry, if they don't like it, let them buy you out!
