When I was growing up, we were primarily a soccer and hockey family. I had limited exposure to baseball and football. However, back in 1979, when I wasn’t even a teen yet, I got up one night when everyone else was asleep and went to watch TV on the little black & white in the spare room. There was a Monday night football game on so I decided to watch it for a while.

I was mesmerized by this one player who caught every ball that was thrown his way. He didn’t score a touchdown but he caught some amazing catches and ran for a lot of yards. That guy’s name was Steve Largent. And because of that one night, sneaking out late to watch TV on a little black & white with a coat hanger for an antenna, watching this guy catching passes and running all over the place, I became a Seattle Seahawks fan. And I have been for the past 30 years.

Go ’Hawks!

PS I have a good feeling about the Seahawks this year…

I never really cared about the Lakers one way or another, but I'm tired of the Kobe love fest…instead of presenting a good product the nba insists upon pushing individuals to sell the product. If the league was stronger w/less teams it would be more fun!

Huge?

Years ago I was responding to a burglary complaint late at night. I arrived on scene with no backup, so I decided to check out the place, alone. As I walked behind the home, in the dark, I was confronted by a huge man – twice my size with arms as big around as my chest. He was wearing nothing but white shorts and sneaks. The guy was terrifying. My first thought was "I'm gonna have to shoot this guy."

Then he said, "Hi, it's me, Reggie McKenzie. I called the police."

Reggie played guard for the Buffalo Bills at time (circa 1975).

That's enough to give a guy nightmares!

Between all the Finals (nba, nhl) and the big rivalry games in baseball (phils v. mets, yankees v. bosox) not sure how much I'll be on this week…GO PHILS!

Though I don't approve of whiners like Sidney Crosby (and Kobe Bryant just shut up and play)gotta give it up to the penguinos for pulling off the upset of the year AND doing something that hasn't been done in 30+ years in the nhl, the underdog and road team taking the 7th game of Stanley cup finals. Congratulations Pittsburgh!

Go Phillies!

I went, Phills lost. /unsure.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Staying home and watching. /cool.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' />

I forgot how wonderful the new stadium is.

Still miss the Vet, so many memories, of sports, and concerts.

The Spectrum, will be gone soon, too.

Slam, the Red Sox Phills! /biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />
