Snow storm hit southern NH last night. Power out everywhere.

Im sitting in a local High School gym shelter. They say could be a week without power.

Had to sit in a line for an hour to get gas at one of the few stations around with power.

They cancelled Halloween. Its crazy!

Canceled Halloween? What! That not right. lol

We got hit hard here in Central NJ, too. We lost a bunch of trees and our power is out until Thursday or Friday. Dang it! We just lost power because of Irene and now this.

I'm typing this by candlelight. Thank goodness for my wireless card and a car charger for my laptop. /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I hate to say this but its going to be a baaaaaaaaaaaaad winter. Mad it through this last storm. Just a couple of hanging branches…made ith through TS Irene to. Just a whole lot of branches down around here. I guess all the really dead trees were knocked downa few storms back.

I'm not always right but I'm never wrong.

It's a wonder that there are any trees left at this point.

The house I bought is fine, no trees down around it at all. Checked my dad's house,

a few down, but none landed on the house or garage, so all is good. Had no school

again today. Im anticipating there will be school tomorrow though.

ETA: I was wrong, just got a call, no school tomorrow

Well Monk, I only get paid for the first 4 snow days each school year,

I've used up 3 and its barely November. I would rather have it spread

out a little more.

Sorry kid, that's crappy. I had no idea how they worked that, doesn't seem right that you get penalized for mother nature's foibles.

Only 4 paid snow days?? In the Northeast?? Only 4??? Geesh…time to get a new union. Should join the NYC UFT…they are able to get a months worth of snow days for teachers in Florida.

I'm not always right but I'm never wrong.

Hell, we never use to get any paid snow days, so 4 is a huge blessing haha.

BUT, I have now used them all up, school is cancelled again tomorrow.

Wonder if they will even bother trying to open on Friday

I remember in High School and grammar school any unused snowdays would be used on the back end of our school schedule and get us out of school earlier for the summer…It never dawned on me that the teachers were getting burned, that's horrible, especially considering you live in a heavy snow region.
