1. art history - I've known that I wanted to be an art historian since I was 10 years old when I first learned about the ancient Romans and Egyptians. I've been fascinated and obsessed ever since. Although I specialize in 19th century American art, I am deeply passionate about art from all cultures and centuries because I continually learn about our history through the study of objects we produce. I could not live without art! (Well, some art I can live without - but that's a discussion for another time!)

2. hockey - yep, hockey. Might seem an odd pairing with art history, but I am a die hard hockey fan. There's nothing like the rush of watching a game! And, GO STARS!

3. my friends and family - I'm fiercely loyal and love them dearly for their unconditional support and love over the years.

4. music - I love going to see live music. I'm particularly fond of country - traditional country, mind you, not the pop country and the crap that's been produced since the 90's. Think Hank, Willie, Waylon, Johnny, western swing, Texas country and singer/songwriters. I also love rockabilly and good rock. Not much of a fan of pop music these days, guess that means I'm getting old!

5. books - to quote Thomas Jefferson, "I cannot live without books."

6. running - I love to run. I'm not a marathon runner, nothing near that far - but try to run 45 minutes every other day or so. It's my escape time - and time where no one else can bug me about anything - time to work out whatever worries I may have that day. Since I've been couped in the house the last few days (and will be for a few more - hence why I've been online so much lately!) with this cough/cold thing and not been able to run, it's making me slightly stir crazy.

7. life - cliche, I know, but the older I get, the more I appreciate it.

We are currently remodeling our home, a 109 year old Colonial, that has documented activity so that keeps us busy.

my boys ~ they are my world

my job ~ i work with special needs kids in a middle school. i love my job and feel like i'm making a difference in this world

that's about it. i have other things i like. reading, puzzle books, collecting salt & pepper shakers,

but i wouldn't call them passions.

more today then I did the day we married. Sounds cliche but it's true! /wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I am a huge beach bum and I'm never happier than when I'm on a beach somewhere.

I love deep sea fishing and fresh water fishing. Fishing and camping is probably

one of my favorite pass times. We live in the country on several acres with a large

lake less than 3 miles from our house so we don't get to do as much camping as we'd

like anymore but still enjoy it when we can. I also love boating and jet skiing!

I love my horses. I've owned several though currently only play with our neighbors.

I ride dressage and western but dressage is probably my favorite.

I also love cooking for, and getting together with, a group of family and friends. Nothing better

than good food, good drink and good company. /wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I enjoyed politics this election more than I have any other. It was the first time I can remember

people getting so passionate and involved in the process, myself included!

I also enjoy reading, anything paranormal, snow machining and traveling.

I love anything from classical to metal, the only exception being rap.

First and foremost, my beloved Monkette! She's the best, her laughter lifts my spirits and smiles brighten my world, always! The kindest person I've ever met. Couldn't imagine life without her and wouldn't want to!

My crazy dog Nilla who is a never ending source of entertainment. She genuinely makes me laugh.

Oh - and photoshop - you're doing pretty well, I think.

Photography - I did freelance work for awhile and used to have a darkroom in my house, but now with everything going digital, chemicals became too expensive.

Movies- esp horror movies and classics

Tattoos and other art forms.

Animals. I have three English Bulldogs. They are the cutest things. And I highly believe in adopting shelter animals.
