I don't think anyone wants my recipes, unless you're having trouble with your cardboard pizzas. The funny thing is (at least to me) is that when I contributed to a author's collection cookbook, I had to steal my husband's recipes.

Mac & Cheese, now that's gourmet. /wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

LOL I can microwave. I think my problem is I lack patience and tend to wander off during the actual cooking process only to remember when I smell it burning.

Well, I made my bacon wrapped chicken stuff the other night but changed to using peppered bacon and it was much better this time. Even took it to work and had leftovers there.

Michelle, you come see me. I'll teach you to cook. You too, MK. Karen's cooking school is now open! Normally $5000 – for you, free. /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

I write gourmet articles, cooking articles and recipes for another source. Dunno if I mentioned that.

But srsly – anyone who REALLY would like to get a handle on cooking, one of the best primers out there is Cooks Illustrated – both the magazine and all of their cookbooks (also America's Test Kitchen – which is from the same folks). They not only go in detail over every technique, but they tell you WHY each technique is the best for what you are doing, why certain flavors work better than others, etc. They also give great equipment reviews. I recommend them to a lot of my non-cooking friends, and those people go through a metamorphosis in the kitchen with a little info under their belts.

I am a highly creative cook. Have to be with my highly unique dietary issues (no dairy, no gluten, no grains, no soy – essentially I am limited to hunter/gatherer foods because of allergies and autoimmune issues). Usually my creativity yields wonderful things. Occasionally we throw whatever it is in the sink and head out for dinner. Haven't had that happen in several months – I don't even remember what it was the last time, but it totally sucked. Something in the crock pot, I think.

OK, so this morning, I took out some Pillsbury Cinnamon rolls from the freezer, cracked the pack open, placed them neatly on my baking sheet, stuck them in the oven at 400 degrees, wandered away, and ran back when I smelled burning cinnamon rolls. Seriously, I'm pathetic!

/laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

I'll take you up on that offer Karen. /tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

Tempting. Does your cooking school include being fed? You might not get us to leave. LOL Seriously, though, thanks for the recommendations. I do wish I knew more about healthy cooking. Can we find the links from your website?

My solution to the cooking thing. I married a guy who knows his way around the kitchen. Funny man, keeps trying to make me his assistant. I like baking though, sometimes. Probably because it doesn't require constant attention.

Omg, that is so something I would do. I would even have the mental thought to set the timer and then talk myself out of it "Oh, I'll remember. It's only 15 mins."

Heh – I never write about healthy cooking. I probably should since that is what I do mostly at home. Maybe I should write a gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free cookbook. I can't be the only one who has to eat caveman….

You know, I bet something like that would sell. I know a lot of people who don't eat gluten due to allergies. Could be a lot of fun to put together.

wow is that an embarrassing typo – or a pending geico ad. Hard knowing.

Turns out that gluten sensitivity and dairy sensitivity often go hand-in-hand. As for the soy – that is another autoimmune issue altogether, but a lot of people can't eat that, either. There is something called the "sensitive seven" foods that many people have allergies to:

eggs

soy

corn

dairy

wheat

peanuts

sugar

I have five of the seven (I can eat eggs and peanuts).

OK, this recipe is for the easy to fix record books and it is pretty good and simple.

2- cans Ranch style " Husband Pleasin" beans.

2- cans of Campbells Nacho Cheese Soup.

1- onion and or desired effect of Jalapenos or both.

1- pound of ground hamburger….browned before mixed with other ingredients.

1- 20ct. package of flour tortillas of choice.

Mix all together, simmer for 15 minutes, serve wrapped in hot flour tortilla with the side dish

of your choice. Rice and Guacamole dip and sour cream seem to be the favorites.

We call it :" Cabrito de Blanco Burritos" /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

You're probably used to it by now, but any of those would be hard, let alone five. I know wheat allergies makes getting most shots hard too because of the binding agents.

I love this thread!

DH and I were just talking about getting bored with the same old, same old so I'm excited to try out

everyone's suggestions.

Whammies you have listed some great recipes and I can't wait to try them out. I'm making my grocery

list now! /wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' /> Thanks!

Ediaz, I came here looking for your homemade tamale recipe. I've wanted to learn to make tamales

for years, I hope you get time to post that recipe soon!

Monkette's mom makes some fantastic tamales every other month. A massive pot of them spicy & mild. She gets orders from the rest of the family usually around 4 dozen.

Thanks everybody for making me hungry!

Well, I have no creative recipes of my own, I usually take other recipes and put a twist of my own to it…but I can say, at home I have a 60 inch dual oven gas Vulcan stove. All stainless with 6 burners, dual gas ovens, 24inch flat griddle with broiler….Ohh Uhhh….I AM MAN!

I'm so jealous!

By any chance would Monkette's mom want to share her delicious recipe? /biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

I have a Klingon grill, but unfortunately I can't find it as I accidentally engaged the cloaking device.
