So what does everyone have planned for tonight or tomorrow?

My wife and I are not doing anything special. I'm cooking dinner tonight: steak and shrimp with some french bread and cajun rice. The steak and shrimp have been marinating since 9am today. I'll start cooking here about 5pm or so. Tomorrow I'm off of work but she is working so nothing special there except to eat our regular dose of black eyed peas. This is a family tradition that is supposed to bring good luck. So far so good, I'm still breathing.

How about you?

Tonight I have the exciting plans of doing nothing /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

I never go out on New Year's Eve. I dont drink, and the

idea of being out on the roads with people who do isnt

appealing to me.

Colin has planned an "up all night party", we'll see how

long he goes. Last time he made it to 2am.

Tomorrow, no plans except sleeping I guess if we

actually do manage to stay "up all night" haha.

I am going to play wii sports, maybe have some champagne, should make the game more interesting. Tomorrow I will watch the rose parade and do laundry, watch my hubby make black eyed peas. That is my exciting new years plans.

They were all grounded this morning due to heavy fog. /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

The steak is something different, which I mean is I picked some Black Angus steaks to cook up. I've never cooked them before so this will be interesting. I cook steaks, fish, chicken and shrimp quite often on the hibachi but I haven't done that in a few months. If I'm too busy vomiting or being sick where I can't post then you will know it didn't go as planned.

Monkette and I have no plans because she has to be at work in the detention facility by 7am. Although I did go out and get all the ingredients for her new drink she prefers…it doesn't have a name that we know of but it's basically this:

In a highball glass filled w/ice

Dbl shot of Sailor Jerry rum (92°)

single shot of Malibu rum (42°)

splash of banana liqour (99°)

splash of grenadine

dbl shot of ginger ale

dbl shot of pineapple juice

fill the remainder of glass w/org/straw/banana juice (dole or tropicana works)

I've got some fantastic Anderson Valley Brewing Co's Winter Solstice Lager (northern california micro brewery that uses solar power) on ice, along w/champagne & oj for Mimosas. We've also got Jaegermeister in the freezer. I went to Targé this morning and bought "9", "Inglorious Bastards", "The Hangover" and "Something, something, something Dark Side". So at the very least we'll have movies to watch.

I agree w/Heidi about being on the road w/all the drunks out there. In a little while I'll probably pull my car up in the driveway to keep it off the street.

My father always called New Year's Eve "amateur night"

and refused to go very far from home. Good thing for him

we had a bar not too far away /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

The steaks sound good, Ryan. I did a Black Angus rib roast for Christmas.

I'm doing pizza to tonight, got lazy.

This was the first Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve that I didn't have to work all night at the hotel in three years. How novel!

My mom and I plan a quiet evening at home. Mom is 80 so she probably won't make it until midnight. I've got a bottle of chardonney chilling and will probably have a glass. I'm afraid I left my wild and crazy days behind me in So. Cal. Trust me, I did enough wild and crazy things there to fill several lifetimes!

I hope everyone has a great and safe New Year's.

Carolyn

Lets see. Maybe I'll get drunk, throw up in the umbrella rack and then pass out on the floor. Or watch TV, set the alarm for 11:45 watch the ball drop from the comfort of my warm house and laugh at those idiots standing in the cold and snow and rain in Times Square. Then go to bed and wait to do it again next year.

I'm not always right but I'm never wrong.

The above are my opinions.

we went all out for dinner: subway! hey, if i don't have to cook it, it's a treat. we are doing the stay at home thing. TCM is having a 'Thin Man' marathon and i love those movies so don't even have to use the clicker much except to mute the adverts between movies.

Nothing. We try not to do anything. I'd rather survive a night at home, than fight with drunks on the road.

I should addenum that we live near a casino…
