I have been involved in electronics all my life. I am very skeptical about the electronic equipment used in the paranormal field.

Welcome! I look forward to hearing your ideas about the equipment. I'm pretty skeptical of much of it, too.

I guess I missed this thread and I'll do a fly-by. I'm Dawkins, a dire skeptic and I'm a materialist, but choose not to argue that philosophy. I demand evidence before belief, and cannot be moved by arguments advanced lacking such. Robust evidence. Which makes me seem less than open-minded but I assure I am, and can proffer a definition if you so inquire.

Be prepared with your best, as am I.

Cool! Welcome Crouty's husband. /tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

We definitely have tech chit-chat, but we also have Personal Experiences, Paranormal Media, Ghosts and Hauntings, General Discussion, etc., forums here. So, if there's a topic that you don't see in those that you'd like to start a discussion around, please add a New Topic on your favorite paranormal subject.

Have fun! /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

You know – when I saw the name and read his posts, I wondered if he was your hubby. But I didn't want to ask and have him say "Crouty who now??" Thanks for having him join us! Looking forward to hearing his POV.

It's what I like about you, Dawkins. I enjoy having my positions challenged. Mainly because my position is often, "I have no frickin' idea." I may be agnostic in the truest sense of the word.

He'll be around. Busy man, Lol! He teaches also at night at a community college. So, in between, if that's ok? The way you can help him is, "just ask tech questions". He gets that all the time from his students. /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

Yep – technical is a small part of what we do here. We welcome all viewpoints, all opinions and look forward to people starting the discussions that they would like to have. We don't really have one focus here – our focus is the paranormal from all aspects.

As long as you understand you are about a hair shy of sharing my philosophy, from what I've seen.

I could go either way at any time! I wonder if that makes me wishy washy.

And really and far away, you Whammies, and Mystical and Sithy are trying to establish a more concrete idea as to what the the paranormal, if such a thing exists, might be. And that is so admirable, given the fraud in the community. I truly wish you well.

Welcome Dawkins! I hope you enjoy your stay here at PUG, as I think that you will find stimulating and intelligent exchange regarding all aspects of the paranormal. I suggest that if you have not already, please check out the science blog. I feel that it may be your "cup of tea" so to speak. Enjoy!

Welcome EE101. I hope that you enjoy your stay here at PUG. While tech equipment is a small part of what we discuss here, I think that you will find some of the viewpoints here regarding this matter refreshing to say the least. Once again, welcome!

Thanks. I think that we can work to try and find answers. I'm open to them – whatever they may be.
