So, I had to wait to approach the owner of the hotel regarding the big gathering. I wanted to wait until the slow, winter season was over and he was making bucks again. He would be in a better frame of mind when money was coming into his pockets.

He was in a VERY good frame of mind yesterday!

As a result, he agreed to let me block rooms, suites, etc. for PUG's exclusive use for that weekend next August. Since the iron was hot, I also asked him to give a 10% discount to any PUG member who books a room during that time. (What the heck, might as well go for it. Any more of a discount would have turned his face red.) He agreed.

So, when our system is ready to accept reservations, I will block as many rooms as I can (I can even block the entire hotel) for PUG's exclusive use. I will make the announcement here, what to say when you call, etc., at the appropriate time. I will speak with the owner again about how long to hold this block up to the date. Once that is determined, and depending on how many actual reservations are taken, I will be able to open it up to the rest of the community (Kim, for your FB page).

Carolyn

That's cool. Thanks Carolyn. I'll make a note on my calendar.

Eh, I got nothin'

We had the Inn & Buford suites across the street. If you are ok with odd noises, sounds like, gunfire, etc. Then those would be for you.

I won't let anyone forget. People can start making reservations at several hotels now. For those who want to stay at the General Lee get your reservations in soon also.

So far a lot of people have shown an interest in going to Gettysburg that weekend. I hope they do. It should be a great time if a lot of paranormal people go.

GL's place is booked solid.

Anybody know anything about the Dobbin House?

Any recommendations will be appreciated.

Dobbin House in town is central but not sure of the value. Did you send for your free visitors guide yet? You can send for one here… http://www.gettysburg.travel/v…../guide.asp

There are many hotels and a lot in town or withing walking distance. Google Gettysburg Hotels to see more. This one is right in the cemetery but you will have to ask for a cemetery view. http://www.gettysburgcomfortsuites.com/

I am sure you will find a hotel. Happy hunting.

About what time of of year do you do this? A friend and I are talking about going to Gettysburg, but it probably wouldn't be for at least a year to a year and a half. Otherwise, I think we'd definitely be interested.

Sorry for the late response. I was just going through the posts. This will be August 5,6, & 7, 2011, next year.

WOW….they are booked already?

Did you tell them it's for PUG….since Carolyn has blocked the entire place for PUG members.
