Thanks. Just got back from Gettysburg. Very interesting weekend. Had our groups portrait done also. It took a while but I like it.

Just a funny note… The lady on the right with the skull is also named Becky M.

You can see the TAGGED PHOTO on Facebook.

What an outstanding photo! I love it Kim!

It is really amazing, and a lot of fun! You guys look like you actually are from that time period! I commented on your FB, but thought I'd join in the "props" here, too.

You can check out his AD HERE but it doesn't do justice to his knowledge and expertise. He and his wife are also very nice people.

You can also check out his work on the History Channel on March 30. It is the episode on the Shroud of Turin. He did the photography for it. He also said if they don't cut him out for some reason he will also be in it as the photographer.

Thanks for posting the link GhostBreakers. Just from the website, his work looks outstanding. Definetly something I'll check out on my next trip to Gettysburg.

The 2011 Gettysburg Paranormal Gathering got a green light from the Gettysburg town council.

Now I am waiting for the media relations manager of the Visitors Bureau to get back to me on helping get the word out also. Everyone so far has been very helpful and seems genuinely excited to get this off the ground.

That's great Kim! You're doing a wonderful job promoting the gathering.

Kim, that is absolutely wonderful!

It wouldn't surprise me if this ended up being one of their largest gatherings and possibly a yearly gathering.

Well, if all goes well maybe it will blossom into an annual gathering.

The main idea is just to get people interested in the paranormal to gather in one place all at the same time. Just enjoy what Gettysburg has to offer in history as well as the paranormal and meet others interested in the field in a casual setting. So many people and groups these days seem to be in competition. I just don’t see why. Maybe by seeing and meeting others will help bring people closer together and actually bring some unity to the field that you see so many people preaching. I guess that is it. This is an attempt to get people together to practice what they preach.

I hope it will gather some momentum as time goes on. I have my doubts though. Since it isn’t a formal event and NO celebrities, many won’t go I am sure. I posted an event on Facebook and was surprised at many who said they won’t attend. I understand those who live far away but there are people that live closer than I do, that already have declined. I guess there are a lot of people that are only interested in getting their photo taken with the celebrities.

However, I won’t give up. There are a few that will go for sure and even if it is only them, then that is a start. Either way I am going… LOL

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Those that are declining because it is an informal gathering, or because there are no celebrities, so be it. I prefer no celebrities. And if it is a small group, it may be better for a first time gathering, as it might be easier to meet others.

I think this is a great idea and I won't miss it.

I'm anxious to meet everyone that I can…..and will hopefully make some new life long friends.

Thanks again Kim for a wonderful idea, and Carolyn for having a great place to stay.

I never like to wish time by, but…………..

I think it's a great idea and I'm planning on being there. It's a good excuse to go to Gettysburg and I'm always interested in connecting with others in the field. The lack of celebs is no big deal to me. For those interested in autograph collecting, there's plenty of conventions. I'm looking forward to making some new friends and as you say, creating some unity in the field.

Now, how about 2012 in New Orleans? /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

Actually, if this gets off the ground and people like the idea I hope it would spread to other parts of the country.

What would be ideal, would be several gatherings across the country on the same weekend. Then maybe it could be called the American Paranormal Gathering. It is actually quite possible if you think about it. All anyone really has to do is pick I would say 6 places to cover the US. Then it is just a matter of keeping it on peoples minds.

There really is nothing to it as long as the 6 places are of interest to the paranormal community as well as of a tourist interest. Maybe a National gathering is an idea to pursue for 2012.

Let's see, 6 places for a gathering?

East Coast: North-Boston/Salem Ma. area Central-Williamsburg Va. South- Savannah Ga.

Central US: North-Wisconsin area Central-Wichita/Dodge City Ks. area South-New Orleans

West Coast: North: Seattle area Central- SanFrancisco South- Tombstone Az or Los Angeles

These places are just off the top of my head and could be changed from year to year. Then all you need is someone from the areas chosen to champion the gatherings and get the word out. The more I think about it the more I like it.

Well, lets see if the Gettysburg one even gets off the ground and how it is received. At least there will be a few of us there. LOL

That is actually the general idea. I think I will add that analogy to the fan page. If Gettysburg turns out maybe it will catch on for other places too.

That would be cool. We could do one in Texas as well, since there are a few of us here on the boards.

Texas is not too far from me…I would love to attend.

Oklahoma is centralized.

I agree with that one……since I am moving to OK..lol

How about every year a different place? /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

That would be interesting as well.

My husband suggested that if we do have one in Gettysburg, July would be the best time since that is when the battle actually happened. Perhaps there would be more activity at that time.

Thanks for the suggestion. After talking with a lot of people and the town itself the Gettysburg gathering is set for August 5, 6 & 7 2011. Your suggestion and reason is a good one but also a time of many other events that might take up a lot of hotel space from those who might want to attend.

My thoughts on August fall along the lines that Aug would be a better time because of all the human energy that will be around prior to the gathering. If, as some believe, that spirits draw on energy, then I would think a summer of events and tourists would fuel them quite nicely with human energy for when we have the gathering in August.

If the Gettysburg gathering goes well I will begin throwing the word out on the National gathering for 2012. After consulting with several people I think the National Gathering in 2012 will involve many locations instead of only 6 and will need many people to champion the dissemination of information for their areas of the country. I hope I will be able to get people on board with that.

So, I had to wait to approach the owner of the hotel regarding the big gathering. I wanted to wait until the slow, winter season was over and he was making bucks again. He would be in a better frame of mind when money was coming into his pockets.

He was in a VERY good frame of mind yesterday!

As a result, he agreed to let me block rooms, suites, etc. for PUG's exclusive use for that weekend next August. Since the iron was hot, I also asked him to give a 10% discount to any PUG member who books a room during that time. (What the heck, might as well go for it. Any more of a discount would have turned his face red.) He agreed.

So, when our system is ready to accept reservations, I will block as many rooms as I can (I can even block the entire hotel) for PUG's exclusive use. I will make the announcement here, what to say when you call, etc., at the appropriate time. I will speak with the owner again about how long to hold this block up to the date. Once that is determined, and depending on how many actual reservations are taken, I will be able to open it up to the rest of the community (Kim, for your FB page).
