OfflineWe can meet up at the Devils Den Friday night (are we talking the actual Devils Den on the battlefield below Little Round Top or is it place of business?). Then we can have dinner and go on a tour. Still on my wish list is the orphanage and the college. I have family in town too so I may have to bow out here and there so I get to spend time with them too.
Devils Den below Little Round Top.
OfflineIf we go to Fairfield for dinner, will we have enough time for a tour after?
Best to go to the tour office of your choice in the afternoon and buy your tickets. Then you will be able to plan around the tour.
Ghosts of Gettysburg has a Carlisle St. (College) tour at 9pm. Which is the one I will probably do on Friday.
That's plenty of time for dinner I think. We can also make Devils Den earlier, Say 4 or 5pm.

We will try to make the Fairfield Inn by 6:30. I'm buying my Carlisle St. tour tickets online.
I can't wait!!!
OfflineThat's a good idea Kim..why don't we try and meet at DD at 5?
Then try to meet for dinner at Fairfield Inn around 6:30, since Rangerrick will try and be there around that time.
I'll get tickets for Carlisle St. tour also.
So, are we interested in eating at the Mansion House Rest., or Squire Miller's Tavern?
Do we need reservations?

OfflineWell the Gathering is over and the owner posted on Facebook that she is up for doing it next year. So I will get started on figuring a date and then start a new Facebook page as well as a new thread here.
I want to extend a very warm thank you to those who attended and a heart felt sorry for those who couldn't. I enjoyed meeting each and every one of you. Sorry for not being able to sit and chat with everyone but the rain and other commitments had me running. I will be making adjustments for next years M&G so I will at least get to meet everyone and won't spread myself thin with other commitments.
It was a great pleasure as well as a learning experience and next years M&G will be better. I will be asking the property owner for a longer period for the M&G and besides just talking I think taking people on a tour of the properties interesting spots first instead of people trying to find them, will allow them more opportunity to get photos etc of the areas.
So I will begin a new Facebook page in the coming weeks and a new thread here for next year. So I hope you had a great time in Gettysburg and I promise the M&G will be better next year and I am told that Dr. Obvious may bring the famous hat next year…
So please feel free to post your likes and dislikes about the M&G. I will endevour to make it more interesting for next year.
Other than that I will be posting a thread for our Historic Hotel Bethlehem event which is much different and more interesting. The reason being because it is much more than just a meeting of people. I will explain that in the thread when I start it later. You are welcome to visit or like the Hotel Bethlehem Event's Facebook page too so you will have a heads up on what it is.

OfflineI have a couple that I will post soon but I was mostly talking to people and don't have many. However, I believe others took photos and hope they will post them.
Unfortunately Dr. Obvious left the hat at home so I didn't get a photo of that… LOL
My wife Lois took many photos and will post them when we get home, we are still trying to get there a few more days of traveling. I personally want to thank GB and the IMSI people for being such good host and explaining many things which I did not know. Dr. O it was great sharing time with you and your wife, tell her the dowsing rods for her are on me next year. Righty you and S were great company and the rods really do work we used them on multiple locations and of course ranger rick and mrs. Ranger you guys were the great and added so much. Hpe to see you al in the future. mike

I didn't want to embarrass Mrs. O with my nerdiness………
OfflineWished we took a minute to get one good group photo but we didn't think of it at the time. I have just a couple at the farm, some at Devil's Den and the Wheatfield. I have a bunch from Sach's Bridge and even a couple of Elvis! Wrighty, it was such a treat to meet you in person, I am still impressed that you picked me out of the group from your hotel when I was on a Segway! You got skills, girl! Your travel companion is a hoot, tell her I said it was a treat getting to know her on the ghost tour of Gettysburg College. RangerRick and Mrs. RR, I'm so glad we all hung out. RR, let us know if the spirits ever got restless after the missus teed them off upon arriving at the General Lee. She was a good sport throughout and I loved the way she put the ghosts in their place so they wouldn't mess with her!!!!!!!! Now Dr. And Mrs. O, Mike is thrilled to find some camping compadres in both of you! Mrs. O is a believer and her mission just may be to convert the always logical Dr. O. Uh, good luck with that, ain't happen in', IMO! LOL! Lastly, Kim, thanks so much for having the idea and doing all that you did to bring it to fruition. We had an amazing trip and met some of the most interesting people. You were so very gracious with your time and I will never forget my trip to Gettysburg because you helped it to be so amazing. Maybe another PUG member would like to plan something similar in another area of the country, hint, hint Ryan, Monk, MK and Sithy or No Whammies… I will post some pics after I get settled back at home. Still got a few days travel, wish me luck thru IL and IN, they have the worst stretch of interstate- it is just littered with the remains of tires past ( blown out tires EVERYWHERE).
OfflineHere are a few photos I have.
This is the main house where the hospital was in the stone part.
This is the Barn where the soldiers were housed and bodies stored.
The owners daughter explaining some of the farm.
…another angle showing some more people.
…and yet another.
Mark Nesbitt, Laine Crosby & Ghost Channel TV.
Mark Nesbitt and me. I am the non famous one… LOL
Mark & Carol Nesbitt with a member of Cove Paranormal.
Me talking to a member of Marter Para out of Mass.
And last but not least the reason we had to leave at 1pm. This is the tintype photo we had taken.
John in chair, Ray taking photo, Me timing the photo's exposure and my sister Ellen as "The Ghost".
Mumler couldn't have done a better job.
A big thank you to everyone for coming. A learning process for me so next year will be better and a group photo is a great idea. I will keep a running log of all the suggestions and ideas for next year.
OfflineOkay, I must admit that I really didn't want to leave Sunday, but I had to. I had an absolutley fantastic time and it was truly a pleasure meeting everyone. I pray that I have made some forever friends.
L & M…it was a real pleasure meeting you both…you guys were a hoot, and I think that M is now addicted to dowsing rods /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='
' /> …though, I must admit, I love mine too. Dr. O and Mrs. O..I was so thrilled when you showed up. Next year I want to see that hat!!!! /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='
' /> I would have loved to have gone back to Sach's Bridge, but it was just too late for us…thanks to Elvis.. /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='
' /> . RR and Mrs RR…it was great hanging out with you also. Mrs. RR started the weekend off right by ticking the spirits off as soon as she got there!!! Next time, it will be easy to pick each other out at the restaurant… /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='
' /> And lastly Kim……once again, kudos to you for making this happen, and yes, next year will be bigger and better. I for one, plan on staying longer next year. The property owners were so very gracious. Man, that place is awesome. It would be wonderful if they are willing to have the M & G there again, to have it a little longer…that was a very fast 3 hours!!! I hope if they do investigations in the house again, that they will start later in the day. That was one thing I would have loved to have done.
All in all..it was a wonderful trip, and can't wait to do it again next….though I did earn the nickname "Troublemaker"… /rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
