Your "Thank You" is greatly appreciated but not necessary. This is about everyone and it will only be a success if people understand the meaning behind it and show up.

I am hoping people will embrace the idea of just gathering in one place informally and meet others that are like minded. You see a lot of sites, pages, etc boasting they are promoting unity in the field. I just think if people can meet in person that would be the first step in promoting real unity.

My idea also doesn’t stop with this gathering. Even if only 10 people show up (hoping for a few more. lol) I plan on doing it again the next year for those who can make it again and those who couldn’t this year. If it goes well I also plan to ask people to champion their own gatherings around the country for next year.

I know a lot of people love conventions but I was just looking at the Phenomenology 103 convention near Gettysburg and people will be spending a lot of money. I understand it but I also know some people can’t afford $175 for admittance then anywhere from $30 to $100 for each investigation. Not counting other things they have to pay for since everything is ala carte and that doesn’t even include gas, meals or hotel rooms.

At least with the gathering all people have to pay for is their accommodations and travel. Then they can do as they want.

Ok, so there won't be any celebrities but there will be real people who do this because they love it and not for a pay check. Not that there is anything wrong with that. It's just that there are two kinds in the paranromal community and this is for the regular people.

Boy, I hope it goes ok… lol

I think it will go great…..I believe a lot of people are making it a vacation also……and from my experience..most people won't give up their vacation time…. /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

I think it will be good too. I am working with someone to get an actual web page up about the gathering with all the info. I am also trying to add a Gas App so people can calculate what it might cost to drive there. I will let everyone know when it is ready.

A web page would be great. We have a room at the General Lee. This will be our second time staying there. (5th time in GB) The first time at the GL was amazing. I didn't get a lot on my recorder,

just footsteps that sounded like someone walking with a peg leg. I can't wait to stay there again! When we were in Gettysburg in Feb. we were at Devil's Den until after dark.

Just be sure to bring plenty of batteries!!

Thanks for all of the hard work.

I had a flyer made up also. I hope to have people in Gettysburg with businesses put these in their windows to help. I think they might since this benefits them. More people that come to Gettysburg the more will go to their businesses…

What do you think? Are they ok?

Ok, I have been given the green light by the owner of a farm to let people know that we can meet there from 10am to 1pm on Saturday the 6th of August with some obvious ground rules. I have posted the do's and don't s for our meet & greet.

I have assured the owner that the Paranormal Community is a mature serious minded community that will respect their property.

There are some basic obvious ground rules that I have assured the property owner will be adhered to by the people attending.

We should all respect the wishes of the property owner as I have a very strong feeling if they are pleased that they will agree to next year also. If the wishes aren't adhered to then I am afraid this may be the last Gathering as it would show a lack of respect for the property. However, I am putting my faith into the mature behavior of the paranormal community to make this a great event.

Her are the basics. The meet & greet is for only 3 hours. There will be a field designated for everyone to park their vehicles. You may picnic by your vehicles if you wish BUT you must take whatever you bring. Meaning police up your trash etc.

Due to the nature of plantings and dry conditions the owner has requested NO SMOKING on the property. I am sure anyone who smokes can refrain for at least an hour to meet and make new friends in the community and we all thank you in advance for your sacrifice. I am a former smoker of 30 years and I understand what smokers will be giving up to help make this a pleasant experience for all.

The BIGGIE is that it is a private home and there are NO BATHROOM FACILITIES. Sorry but it is just private property and not set up for a formal event. The property owner just happens to be interested in the paranormal and wanted to do their part to make the gathering a success.

The main house was used as hospital during the battle but is OFF LIMITS (understandably) to all visitors.

However, there is a barn to the rear of the property that has had reported paranormal incidents. Also an investigation by a leading Investigative Medium has revealed an unmarked burial ground behind the barn. I am sure the owner won't mind taking photos and recordings while on the property.

If there is anything else I will be sure to let everyone know.

Thank you all in advance for understanding the limitations and ground rules for the meet & greet. I am sure this will be a great time that I hope may be repeated in future years.

Thanks GB, I for one, like to know what to expect and so this is very helpful (esp. the part about no bathrooms- very important detail /wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> ). Thank you again for all you are doing to help this event be a success. The flyer is awesome and I really like that you made mention that this is informal and welcoming to all. I just know that all your hard work is going to pay off and we will all have a great time in Gettysburg.

I am glad it is of some help and hope people will ask more questions if they have them. The bathroom situation shouldn't be as much as a probelm as the NO Smoking. LOL The farm isn't that far from Carolyn's Hotel or the town for that matter.

I hope everyone wiil understand why I don't want to give away the exact location. I just don't want others that might see the location to bother the property owner befoer the Gathering. I will tell everyone how to get there by giving the road it is on and the owner will have a sign up at the end of their driveway so people will know where to go. It will be posted here, Facebook and my website in plenty of time.

Not to worry, it will be easy to find whether you are a seasoned or a first time Gettysburg Visitor.

Once again…a HUGE thank you Kim……you have gone above and beyond the call as far as this gathering is concerned.

And for your friends to allow us to meet on their property so just SO kind of them.

Will we have the opportunity to meet the property owners?

Yes the property owner said they will mingle and answer questions as to the history of the property. They have more than just stories. They have documents, etc., to back up the stories so I think people will find it an interesting place in addition to Gettysburg itself.

Oh gosh…that's wonderful.

I'll be arriving at Carolyn's on Wednesday, so if there is anything you might need done, I'll be more than happy to help… /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I don't know if I posted this here or on Facebook or both, and I don't have time or energy to read back through 12 pages so I'm doing it again.

For the gathering on the private property it would be great to bring a sack lunch for everyone in your party and we could have a sort of informal picnic. Bring something for yourself and maybe something extra to share – I know a pot luck is out of the question since most of us will be camping and in hotels.

Food always makes for great gathering and fellowship. Also remember to bring a garbage bag or two to make sure we are respectful of the gift we have been given by these folks of a meeting site.

That way we can sit around and meet new folks and share our own paranormal stories.

I personally have a picnic basket that I received as a wedding present (7 years ago) and I have never had the opportunity to use it!

I posted a couple obvious rules a few posts up. Keep in mind that the Meet & Greet is only 3 hours. From 10am to 1pm but a bag lunch isn't a bad idea. Also remember that there are NO Bathroom Facilities on the property. So like mom & dad used to say… go before you leave the house. LOL

Oh yeah…DEFINITELY!

Thats why I posted about bringing a garbage bag or two.

Respect is a must!

And three hours is plenty of time to share some good ghostie stories! Shame we can't do it around a campfire!

Yeah, no campfires or smoking but I am sure people will enjoy talking to each other and with the owner about the history of the farm just the same.

I will post the directions in July and I will put a couple signs up at the road to the farm too. I think people will have a good time.

Well, we are getting a little closer. Only 3 more months until the Gathering. Here is a little more info for those interested.

If you are going please visit IMSI ( International Museum of Spiritual Investigations )@ 231 Baltimore street in downtown Gettysburg. They will be keeping a log book of those attending the Gettysburg Gathering. Not tracking people just seeing how many people came and if we should do it again next year.

Also I added a few shirts on my Cafe Press account with the Gathering logo on them for people that don't have group t-shirts and want to be recognized by other people and groups as part of the paranormal community while in Gettysburg. There is an economy T-shirt for about $10 and others too. This is not a push to buy mine. It is just if people want. They will be removed after the event. This is what the shirt logo looks like below.

Same here! We are brushing up on Gettysburg history and were thrilled when the History Channel put this one on.
