I turned Monkette's father onto hockey and he loves it. Trying to figure out a way to get him to game but as San Jose kinda far and I don't want to drink and drive. Maybe I'll just bite the bullet and be designated driver. I'm not sure what would be the better seats closer to the ice so he can appreciate the size of these guys or higher up to see the action unfold.

I'd vote for 10 or so rows back – because that way he could still see the action and you could always walk up to the glass before/after game – when play has stopped, etc. (At least they let you do that in Dallas if you have lower seats.)
