I'm a Pizzaholic.

there is NOTHING wrong w/this at all. Monkette and I looooooooooove pizza but sadly can't eat it as much as we used to because of our diets. Once a month, usually around the 15th we get pizza and that's it. I miss east coast pizza though.

I love the pizza here in NJ. It's the best! We have one of the best pizza places just a short drive from our house. The dough, the sauce, the cheese…. MMMMMMM. We have one almost every weekend and I don't feel guilty about eating it, although I probably should. The more I believe that the end of days is near, the less I worry about what I eat or how much i drink. It's the only upside to my general depression about what's happening in the world. If things take a serious turn for the better, I'll worry about my bad habits. Until then, screw it. /tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

I used to be from South Jersey before moving to the Bay Area and here's the short list of culinary treats and wonders I miss most..in no particular order

-Tastykakes (I can get them here off the web, but it's not the same)

-Jersey Produce (Tomatoes, White Peaches and Corn specifically)

-Pizza from genuine Italian Pizzerias although Zachary's in Berkeley has a ROCKIN' deep dish pepperoni that I highly recommend. I don't like the faux-pizza joints out here. The cheese is all wrong as is the dough and it's because of the hard water here. Nary an Italian to be found at these places.

-Yeungling beer

-Cass' soft pretzels hot from the oven (formerly at the Pennsauken Mart, but I believe they moved up to Burlington County)

-Hoagies and Cheese Steaks (of course)

-white american deli cheese (as opposed to the crappy yellow/orange american here…bleh)

-Greek diners….Dennys???? PUH-LEEEEEEEEEEASE

-Dunkin' Donuts (just the smell driving past would be enough)

-Amoroso rolls

-Turkey Hill Ice Cream…specifically the Vanilla ice cream w/chocolate covered pretzels

-Friendlys Ice Cream (while on the subject) Wattamelon Rolls and Fribbles

I'm addicted to Indian food, (can't beat a Chicken Dopiaza with Naan Bread, Pilau Rice and a a starter of Samosas or Onion Bhajis!)

I love Cadbury's Mini Eggs too… I buy them for my kids, but always end up sneaking some for myself.

As far as TV goes – I watch The Biggest Loser every week…. I hate that type of reality TV usually, but this show sucks me in and I love it.

I think I most probably did…ha!

They are in the same cupboard as the tea-bags so I grab a couple of Mini-Eggs when I go to make a drink.

I hadn't eaten all day (cause I am not feeling well) I ate THREE slices!!! Now this morning I am paying for my giving in to my guilty pleasure!!!

Well Lit, when you are done with the pizza you can walk upstairs and pick up some cholestoral meds.

I'm not always right but I'm never wrong.

The above are my opinions.

Oh, pizza – just North of us off Hwy 99 is a little place called ASTORIAS … oh man …. your blood preasure and cholestoral goes up just smelling it!

But this is a "little" pleasure. Hot toast with Powder Sugar and Powder sugar frosting on top. If you have coffee or cocoa to go along .. oh even better.

JJ, now you have me thinking about fried dough (aka funnel cake), sprinkled with confectionary sugar and cinnamon, super yummy and definitely a guilty pleasure for me!

Funnel cakes – YUM! I haven't had one of those in years, literally. I don't even know where I could get one, other than the shore.

Where I grew up they were called elephant ears but they are the same thing, fried dough with powdered sugar. Holy cow they were good. I don't even want to think about how many calories and cholesterol are in one. Getting older stinks in so many ways, but one of the biggest is thinking about nutrition. When I was a kid I didn't have to think about things like that. I could just ENJOY!

Milomilford, if you have access to a funnel cake please eat one and then describe each and every luscious bite so that I can live vicariously through you. :-)

Will do, KK! Unfortunately for my waistline (who am I kidding- what waistline? /dry.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' /> ) they are available at every county and state fair, at our local Sundown Salute the week of July 4th, and countless other locations. Easy to get means hard to resist. Fortunately, I have to drive well over an hour to get to a Dunkin Donuts! I do so miss ready access to a large ice coffee, no sugar!

I live in Dunkin Donuts Central. Seriously, I think there is a law in NJ requiring a DD on every other corner. I couldn't function without their hazelnut coffee, so it's a good thing that I can buy the beans at the grocery and brew my own coffee at home. I have to admit that I occasionally go to a DD, but not to buy beans. :-)

Yet another vice… I have so many.
