After killing food for dinner and chopping the fire wood, I quit being the spider avenger at night.

OfflineMK needs to take care of her spider problem. I was all ready for bed when this spider crawled across the middle of her ceiling to right over my head. I have a phobia of spiders stemming from my youth, and not just any phobia, I have an almost Steve Gonsalves type fear of 8 legged critters. Normally that wouldn't be a problem, but seeing as how Mk has vaulted ceilings, the **** thing was a good 12 feet over my head, not exactly in reach for killing. So, here I sit downstairs, afraid to go to bed because of an f'ing spider.

Monkette is also an archnophobe and I'll tell ya, I'm like the insect hunter around the place. I never really cared about the little buggers one way or another, but since moving out here to NorCal, we've got black widows and brown recluses so constant vigilance is the key. Here at the job we've got these other spiders which i'll post pix of later on northern california grass spiders, in addition to blue belly lizards and grass snakes. Where my sister lives in SoCal, they've got scorpions & rattlesnakes as well.

My friend Meg (who is now a member
) bought me a dustbuster when we moved to the mountains. She said if I lived in the country, I needed one to suck up spiders. I poo-pooed the idea until the big brown wolf spiders starting invading. By God! It works!
Sleep tight!

One: sithy, isn't it now YOUR spider problem as well? Get yourself a ladder and a super-sonic dustbuster like mine and get rid of the little eight-legged b@st@rds and go to bed! /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='

Two: I guess this is a bad time to bring up the statistics of how many bugs we swallow while we are sleeping?!? /ohmy.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
/tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> Goodnight everyone!

Oh no, you really shouldn't have reminded Chad about the swallowing bugs thing … hopefully he won't see this thread until it moves to the next page. /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='
