Morning everyone. We had a bit of a wild ride this past weekend…night time thunderstorms and tornados. The weather guys were saying that we had over 700 lightning strikes in an hour. The tornado sirens were going off constantly. Right now, its clear, a bit hazy, 76 degrees at 10:15 am.

Eh, I got nothin'

Thankfully no one was hurt. There was some building damage in Plymouth where one of the tornados touched down. Not like Hugo last year where a small child was killed. That was horrible.

Coincidentally, we've been having tornadoes in the area off and on for the past month. They are unusual here in upstate NY. In my 60 years I recall only 1 of consequence, resulting in damage and death, and very few others. The past month, however, there have been 5 or 6, thankfully only minimal property damage (maybe not so minimal to those who own the property).

I see Portland had 106 degrees a few days ago, and Seattle was socked with heat as well.

My youngest daughter lived in Portland for a few years, and I don't recall her ever mentioning extreme heat or tornadoes.

What's up? Is it the end of the world, global warming, or just weather?

I woke up disgustingly happy and chipper today. That ought to drive my family nuts if they ever get out of bed.

Sounds alot like a "tp" and not a "yp"….their problem versus your problem…I'm a morning person myself and go out of my way around the office to be sickeningly cheerful ESPECIALLY around those who are not so. Tough nuggies for them says I

I am one who is not very perky in the morning – at least until the second cup of coffee. Pretty much all you'll get out of me is a sullen look and a few grunts, but once I get caffinated, different story!

Morning everyone!

It is a gorgeous day here – which always brings up the dilemma – go outside and play or sit around and watch football. I know which I'd prefer, although I may be doing it alone…

Yes, I just got up. Still fighting a cold, but on my way to recovering. Yay!

You and me both…I developed a wicked cough over the last couple of days…am self-medicating with a little Jack-n-Coke around 5 in the evening. Seems to help a wee bit…
