Couple of things in the news this week that made me smile:

- the panhandler with a criminal past who is now two years sober gets a second chance because of his beautiful, radio announcer voice.

- the lottery winner who promptly handed the always silly, giant check to his wife while saying "I've been married for 41years, I know what to do with the checks"!

Good stuff.

Heartwarming stories to be sure, hopefully they continue to be positive!

Sad but true.

Imagine there's no heaven, it's easy if you try.

That which is unchallenged and exercised as habit rapidly becomes ritual.

When this occurs, dissent becomes an object of surprise, if not resentment.

Freaky, looking at this guys arm makes my butt pucker!

There was a character in an M. Night Shamalan (sp?) movie that only exercised one side of his body. /blink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> I can't recall the title but it was a pretty good flick with lots of interesting characters. /rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

I have been amused since Mick Jagger's Grammy performance, the interwebs with questions on how old is he.

The man still brings it! With all the contrived performances of today nice to see anybody go out there, and just go with it! Have a good time.

Mumford and Sons, and Avett Brothers were good jammin with Dylan, to Maggie's Farm, though it was hard to understand Dylan, gets worse with age. /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' /> The lyrics seemed slightly changed from years ago.

Usher's mini me, the Bieberette, is way too fixed for me performing. Some of these people look so unrelaxed, and don't look as if their enjoying what they do.

So, Lady Gaga finally hatched. /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' /> I do live for what she's gonna wear next on these awrd shows.

Cee Lo out Gagaed, with his feather outfit and head dress. The muppets didn't look happy, though. /tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Maybe they wanted to sing the real words. /ohmy.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' /> /tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

Many years ago in Mad Magazine when the Stones toured for Tattoo You there was a segment called "Celebrity To Do List" and was supposed to be a celebrity's fictional honey do list and one of the celebs featured was Mick Jagger. Number one on his list was to take his stage wardrobe to the tailor to see if he could figure a way to stop them from shaking, the tour had been over for a month. Some entertainers are better in the studio and others truly shine live, there are plenty that can do both, but it's not a sure thing. There are few artists TODAY that can really own a stage and an audience quite like Mick. Dylan doesn't take care of himself and is sort of lost at an event like the Grammys. Justa Beaver is a laughable PRODUCT thrust upon the public to sell merchandising. He's a wraith, more shadow then substance…and then of course we got Lady Kahkah. I find HER to be very entertaining but have to admit she's beginning to bore me and her music? MEH, NEXT!!!! Here's an idea, go back and incubate in your egg for awhile longer, wrangle up some scrapple, rye toast lightly buttered and some TUNES THAT FLIPPIN' MATTER…for the record David Bowie, did all this kind of stuff 35+ years ago (which predates Madonna, who like Kahkah owe ALOT to him thank you) and was/is BETTER AT IT. He's one of the original entertainment chameleons which has kept him relevant still after all these years. I like Cee Lo Green though and think his latest release is REALLY GOOD (not just the "F" you single). Does it make me a bad person that I was secretly hoping that those egg bearers dropped the thing?

Yes. It was actually quite a simple surgery for me. I was back to work in about two day – very little pain. The only issue was that about 20 years later I got an umbilical hernia, which is apparently quite common in people who have laparoscopic surgery. I also occasionally have a vitamin A or vitamin E deficiency from the surgery, but I supplement so it's fine.

Monkette had it done about 3 years ago…3 little holes and she was rockin' again in no time! Of course I was a complete disaster because there was nothing I could do for her to save her from this and she was scared to death never having been in a hospital as a patient. It was utter torture to see her like that. I wish they'd had lathroscopic surgery when I had my appendectomy…they all but gutted me it was a misery.

Yup – I have a huge appendectomy scar from when I was 12. I was in the hospital for a week. Laparoscopy makes everything so much easier.
