This baby Jim Kong Il (I know I spelled that wrong) looks an awful lot like NoWhammies avatar, hmmm, just a coincidence or something more?

She's on to us Whammies, I think an abduction and waterboarding session might be in order….we'll conspire over in the mod threads!

In an off topic, general discussion sort of way, I would like to share something special with you all. Twenty two years ago tonight, I went into labor, it was 21 hours of "laborious" labor where I passed out between contractions, busted blood vessels in my eye and certain I wouldn't survive this. Why oh why, did I opt to do this natural? I was wishing for a do over which included lots of drugs. Finally, the light at the end of tunnel appeared (get it, ha, ha) and my baby made her way into the world. A bit of a cone head with one little elf ear, she was as perfect as can be. Now she is making her way in the world in a different kind of way, which means finishing up her degree, making career, love and life decisions. Well, I think my work here is done. Good luck baby girl, the rest is up to you!!

Natural? Ouch! Good on you!

How timely your reply is JJB, I was just informed by my 19 year old that it would be cruel to not have stockings anymore for Christmas! I was thinking that since they have both left the nest that would be one less Santa duty I would be obligated to perform… WRONG!… and she made me feel guilty for even suggesting that the tradition fall by the wayside. I mean seriously, my Mum never (oops, I mean Santa) never filled my stocking after I moved out on my own! Hmmmph, kids today just want to be coddled. When I was a kid, I had to walk to school (uphill both ways) in 3 feet of snow with sandwich bags over my socks to keep my feet dry because my boots had holes in 'em… /dry.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Yup, stupid idea, huh? I got signed up ahead of time with the doc for lots of drugs for the second one. Unfortunately, the timing was off and all I got was stuck with a needle for an IV that never happened. Hubby passed out when he saw the needle /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> and was out in the hall being attended to by the nurse when girl #2 arrived, so I hollered to him "hey Mike, it's another girl!" /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' /> So both girls were born "au naturel" and my husband still doesn't like needles!

Yup – Stockings, $$$, moral support, encouragement, a shoulder to cry on … No … we are and will always be parents! To help them 'fix' their booboo's … Not fix them for them .. but help them to fix it their selves…. (encouragement) ….

We have a huge problem in our house with static shocks. I know that lots of people get shocked in the winter when they are running around the house in their slippers but it has gotten so bad that I actually see sparks when I go to turn on a light switch. Dammit, that smarts! I have tried spraying Static Guard which is a bit pricey and stinks up the house. I use fabric softener in the wash and have two Bounce bars in my dryer. I use lotion when I get out of the shower to prevent dry skin because I thought that could be making it worse too. Does anyone have any suggestions to lessen the static shocks in my home?

Keep the air moist. Have a teapot on low or get a humidifier. The DRY air is the big part of the problem.

Lotion helps. What JJB said humidifer really works, we have one on our heating system. Static isn't an issue, our skin isn't as dry, and sinus infections and headaches are minimal. Nail pops, caulk seperating, (I HATE TO RECAULK) hardwood floor finish is maintained better, ( board shrinkage is minimal). My very favorite is it makes the air/heat feel warmer, I can cut back a few degrees and not freeze.

I had some severe skin problems a few years back. Downy, Static Guard, Bounce, etc. all have toxins.

My doctor told me to check out the ingredients in softners and stop using them.

The list included, skin problems, cancer, liver and kidney damage, nausea and vomiting.

My Dob used to have skin allergy problems, and then I approached my vet about this. I washed her bed cover in Downy.

He said don't use Febreeze if you have pets, same thing you'll be poisoning them.
