Yep, so silly I couldn't make it up.

Seemed really neat when I saw it in the store.

This is the one I have.

Ohhhhh….one of those. I never believed those would make a difference in shaving – seemed sort of gimicky. All hat and no cattle. Are they??

so, Christmas is over again for another year. Tree is put away, food is almost gone and I am loving it! Christmas is NOT my favorite time of the year! It is, however, much better now that I have 2 grandkids that get so excited!

Once a year almost seems too often.

So on Christmas me and the boys were driving home from my aunts.

Just chatting about things. We started talking about how when my 2

older boys were in Elementary School the music teacher would give

them spankings on their birthday…you know 1 for each year, and

then a "pinch to grow an inch".

Imagine if a teacher did that now-a-days /ohmy.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':o' />

So many teachers would be fired or brought up on charges

I think about how some of the teachers that I had would invite

their students on trips that were not school related & no one thought

twice about sending their kids

Things certainly have changed. My daughter, noticed how the parents drive the kids to the bus stop in our area. She said what's wrong with them, I always walked, unless it was pouring rain you got me. Fresh air and sun are good for children, I don't get it either. It's safe, hardly any traffic.

I remember my teachers and principal had paddles and drilled holes in them. They named them, I just can't remember the names.

My favorite was hiding under our desks while we practiced bombing drills.

I laugh now, how was our desk going to help us if bombs were dropped. /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

The school I went to didn't have paddles but we did do bomb drills & earthquake drills. I never thought that the desk would save me in either situation.

My grandfather had a piece of a hot wheel track with holes drilled in that he had up high and you could only see the end of it, it was never used on me but I knew it was there & scared of it.

It just started snowing. No worries – I'll stay in and attempt to convert a red velvet cupcake recipe to a gluten-free, dairy-free red velvet cupcake recipe. This could be interesting…

Where's MY special training???

I'm watching Jeopardy and one guy is a "Paraeducator"

Alex asked him what that was and he said "like a teacher's aide with special training"

ummm, the only training I got was "Andrew's homeroom is Room 7, have a good day" /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

(and sadly that's the truth)

Sometimes things wind up indistinguishable from the originals. Other times, not so much. Obviously, I'm hoping for the former.

You've borrowed mine to shave your legs on more than one occasion. Guess I could have showed you where the on button was…
