Holy moly, the earth wouldn't stop shaking! Water was splashing out of the pool and it felt like I was on a boat.

There were reports of it being felt all the way over in Phoenix, AZ.

WTFetch?

The quake was a 7.2, the epicenter all the way down in Mexico, around Mexicali.

It was a sizable earthquake about 2.5 to 3 hours south from us, but boy did we feel it! We were outside and the ground rolled and shook for a good 30 seconds. It seemed like the longest earthquake I'd ever felt.

The water in the pool was splashing out and the tables and plants were movin and a shakin.

I didn't feel any of the aftershocks.

I'm glad you guys are safe. /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

My guess is that all of the earthquakes are actually physically related – the earth settling itself somehow.

Up in the SF Area, I've seen bumper stickers that read "10-17-89 When the Shift hit the Land". Oh these witty denizens of the Bay Area!

Unfortunately, I've had a growing feeling that things will get worse before getting better. Hopefully, I'm just being mega paranoid!

Yesterday evening I got a phone call from the Emergency Notification System for the

first time to let us know we were under a tornado warning. Before I could hear the entire

message the sirens were going off, but we are so far out that its unusual we even hear

the sirens so getting that phone call could have made all the difference for us.

Thankfully it didn't touch down and no one was hurt, but it scared us pretty bad. I love

Spring, but this part of it I could live without!

I guess I'm a little slow today. Why are you happy to be living on

a hill in NH? /unsure.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

Oh, I see. I thought you were saying something about it in relationship to a

tornado. I couldn't understand how being on a hill would be a benefit in that

situation. lol But yes, you are lucky that you don't have to deal with tornadoes

or earthquakes. Both are pretty scary but having dealt with both, for me

anyway, earthquakes were less scary.

I agree that earthquakes are less scary than tornadoes, I could not live where there are tornadoes. I can handle the quakes as long as it is during the day time, we had one a few months ago that was at 4 am, not fun.
