Just looking for opinions, not debate. Which is why it is in this forum…

I live in NJ but never heard of this group. I was wondering if anyone out there has and what you think of their AD?

They also have a facebook page but it seems to me it is all about the Washingtons. Any comments?

OMG! what a scam that is /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

do people actually FALL for that stuff???

what exactly does becoming "certified" mean haha.

tell you what, come to my house for only 2 hours

and for the cut rate of $100 and i'll certify you heehee

what??? it would mean as much in the scheme of things as their certification does /wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

okay, i've been thinking about this…

i'm actually surprised TAPS hasnt thought of this.

I mean I guess I can see that if someone says they are "certified" ghost hunters

it will make them more appealing to a client, but really who has heard of that

group? It would be far more impressive to say you are certified by "TAPS" /wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

Oh, they are serious. I just didn't want to throw stones before anyone else. On their Facebook profile page someone made a comment which I think fits the bill.

Hey Guys, I'm the webmaster over at paranormalpimp.com. Just want to say hi, we'd love to help promote your group and advertise any of your seminars or events, as well as promote The DEADline on our website. If it would be cool with you guys we would also like to feature your evidence on our site, EVP, video, whatever,… and promote your organization…we are looking for paranormal writers as well (mainly news and opinion). If any of you are interested please visit our website http://paranormalpimp.com/ and say hi, or hit us up on the Paranormal Pimp Facebook page, or follow us on Twitter. And if any of you are interested or just curious about who we are please contact us we'd be happy to share what would like to do for you!See More

paranormalpimp.com

Seems like everyone wants to make a buck. Which is ok if they are legit and depending on what it is I guess. The video just made me laugh. I think the guys that want to promote them says it all. They are Pimping the Paranormal.

Now is this just something to laugh off or a matter of concern? Hmmmm… They say the squeaky wheel gets the grease. If groups like this get all the attention what are people to believe?

You know if it wasn't for the price I wouldn't have an issue with this. In a way this helps them recruit members for their group. Kinda like our juniors that we have. I didn't hear them say anywhere that the cert was a national one or anything so I don't see an issue there.

Actually TAPS does hold classes or at least they used to. They never mentioned it on the shows but their website has a schedule for classes and other stuff that they put on.

Oh, I forgot to ask. Did they hire the woman doing the voice over from one of those 900 number places?

but does TAPS then claim you are a certified ghost hunter?

this isnt paying a fee to become a member of their

group, heck even current members have to pay

a pretty penny to get certified /rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I have no idea what TAPS claims a person coming out of the class achieves. Like I said in my first post, the only issue I have with the class is the money.

They have a little breakdown on their site…

http://www.njghs.net/certification.html

…but who certified the certifiers?

So basically all you're doing is being certified within their group.

WHOOPEE. /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

And really as long as you go and submit the 500 page essay…i mean report you're certified haha.

No where did it say they would "grade" the essay…report, and the only requirement

really is that it has historical info in it too.

what a joke.

Each other, I suspect…….. /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I just read this on the site.

Successful completion of the Training along with a Passing Mark of 80 points or higher will yield you the Certificate and new NJGHS Membership card that carries the designation: Certified Paranormal Investigator.

Please know that this designation is recognized in the NJGHS and preferential consideration is given to those CPIs for the more intense cases/investigations. This certification is not nationally recognized and is not valid for any licensing requirements your state may require.

Do you need a license anywhere to Ghost Hunt???

Well, a driver's license comes in handy. Parents get tired of driving you around after a while.

ahhh, but that's just good marketing /tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

they dont say any other states DO require licensing, just that this

certification doesnt cover any your state MAY require.

it's not just what you say…but what you DONT say /wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
