Every summer we've lived here we had a bat in the house.

The first year it happened it was in the house 2 days before we

caught it and put it outside. That year Nick named it Brucey /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

Well, every summer Brucey comes back (its probably not the

same bat, but we just call them all Brucey now /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' /> )

Usually I just open the window and it flies out, but last night

he didnt (or she as Colin calls it a she). It's weird…it flew up

the stairwell and vanished. it wasnt hanging on the wall or

ceiling, the bedroom doors were shut. No clue where he went,

but from past experience since he didnt go out the window

I predict he'll be back flying around the living room tonight.

Nick named him Brucey after Bruce Wayne /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

Too late. I read it. I am happy to report that last night at Wellington, I went in the outhouse after dark with only minimal apprehension that bats were going to fly out of the toilet or be hiding in the rafters and get trapped in my hair. /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' />

But I still don't want bats in my house.

Brucey Is Back!

So we were sitting in the living room talking about Brucey.

Lily was at the computer with me. We were making fun of

how scared Lily is when the bat is around. I guess she didnt

like that /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Laugh' /> . Just as we're talking about it she looks up

the stairs and jumps down and runs up the stairs. I look and

HEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS BRUCEY!!!

Matthew's bedroom door was open and he flew in there. Lily sat

at the door and watched him. He landing on a Poster in Matthew's

room, so matthew got a box and caught him. He's been released

to the wild. Hopefully this is it. Usually we only have one bat a

summer and once we get it out of the house we're done.

Fingers crossed that's the case this summer too.

You need to go to Karen's house and catch her bat.

It's still in there somewhere. /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

I prefer running around the house shrieking "come back black chicken we're hungry!"
