So this is an interesting site with a bunch of audio illusions in it. Listen to a few of them. Read the explanations. Could these contain within them explanations for what we're hearing when we pick out an EVP or hear a disembodied voice?

I tried the first and second one. But for reasons unknown it kept tried to download the latest quicktime player, when I had just done it…I didn't hallucinate the sound as advertised (sadly) but the second one sort of did the loop thing…i would need to check it out w/the earbuds as my headphones are molded to left and right ear and really can't be switched.
