Hey guys,

I've just been introduced to the Skype world. It's a good and free way for me to talk to and see my daughter in Tunis, Tunisia.

My question is this: Are any of you Skype users? Is there anything I should know about it, such as privacy issues? I'm usually up to date on techie things, but I didn't think this was one of the applications I would ever be using.

Any info or tips and tricks would be helpful.

Thanks!

Just remember anything you say or write could be heard/seen if someone has the desire

I HAD skype a while back to help out modding here but, wound up selling it to a coworker when I wasn't using it too much. I didn't have it long enough to learn any tricks or whatever, I'm sure the net has something to help you though! good luck

I have skype (and love it!). But there is one thing to know about it. Ok, so skype uses its users as a means to connect others. They really have nothing for it themselves. So myself, having fios, get my bandwith used like crazy for those in my area. But honestly it creates no problems. It doesnt mean that they have access to anything on your computer or skype profile. They dont even know about it. And if you have a lesser connection, your probably using some of someone elses. If I hadnt told you I bet youd never know lol. You will not see anything to indicate anything and as I said ni privacy issues with it.

Remember, dogs and cats are better than kids because they:

(1) eat less,

(2) don’t ask for money all the time,

(3) are easier to train,

(4) normally come when called,

(5) never ask to drive the car,

(6) don’t smoke or drink,

(7) don’t want to wear your clothes,

(8) don’t have to buy the latest fashions,

(9) don’t need a gazillion dollars for college and

(10) if they get pregnant, you can sell their children ..

Privacy queen here: Skype is opt in only, so you have to allow friends to connect with you. You should be just fine privacy wise. There are a few quality issues, but that's about it.

I have never heard of such a thing, weird.

Thanks for the info.

Great Googly Moogly I can't wait to tell the ex this! LOL

I use Skype mobile and regular Skype at home it's great. Save

some small clarity issues and heavy usage times. Overseas rates

can't be beaten.
