Oh and it's a "preview" of a Pink Floyd channel coming in June...not sure the particulars on that one...I listened to the channel for about 6 hours on Friday and while it's decent AND commercial free (like all SiriusXm music stations) I'm not sure how much material they really have at their disposal, remember this is NOT a show, but a channel that requires 24 hours of programming. So for a weekend it may be a viable thing, but ultimately, unless the band & Waters are willing to cough up some archival material (and LOTS OF IT). I predict lots of repetition which may not be the best thing. So far, I've heard quite a bit of Waters live, some Wright solo material and Floyd material from through out their career. Must confess, it was awesome to hear Matilda Mother and Lucifer Sam again, had been ages.

Bands/Artists that have their own stations on SiriusXm already such as BB King's Bluesville, Jimmy Buffet's Radio Margeritaville, Grateful Dead Channel and E Street Radio (Springsteen) each have their own unique format styling that enables (enabled) them to go from temporary special channels to full time regular channels. Bluesville, plays all kinds of blues not just BB's music exclusively. Buffet's station also utilizes like styled music, his own material, archival live stuff AND when Jimmy's on tour they sometimes replay the show later on the same day after the concert. They even have a "tail gate" show leading up to the concert itself. Good place to discover new "kick back" music. The Dead is the Dead...they have an enormous catalog of studio music, but they key to their programming is the hundreds of hours of live material from the bands 40+ years of touring. They also highlight the satellite and solo acts associated with the Dead AND their live output as well. Bruce's station follows the same format as the Dead. Lots of studio stuff to pull from and hours and hours of live material. No disrespect to the Big Pink but their attention to detail and higher standards combined w/lower output rates over the years, might make it a little tougher. One artist who has the material and to my knowledge has never had a station but probably should is Frank Zappa. But because of the oddness of Zappa's material, it's not for everyone so it would be a "tougher sell".

3 3/4 cats? I'm afraid to ask what the other 1/4 is or what happened to it. Transporter malfunction?

They already did try to block the merger a few years ago, it's a very long complicated story and fairly well documented on the web. It's also part of the reason Stern got burned out of part of his bonus $$$...very ugly indeed. The government finally came around in the face of huge pressure and TONS of bad press which essentially made the government look as though they were fishing for a kick back to green light the merger. If they didn't approve the merger...BOTH entities would've went out of business...they sort of needed each other.

I wonder if the government is going to go after SirusXm with anti-trust law violations. I mean hey, the only two sat radio companies have now become one. Where's the competition?

Just as a heads up...siriusxm usually offers free 3 day trials, soooo if you don't already have SiriusXm you might be able to "cheat" a little and do this. I've also been told one of the Satellite TV carriers (direct TV I think) offers sirius free as part of their music package.

Glad you got new cats....my cat recently died last month...dont know why, she was my favorite one out of the three we had, she was the all white one that i used to have pictured on here....she waited till i came home before she took her last breaths in my arms.....

Moving, Working, Dealing with my Dad's estate and Christmas sure is time consuming haha. I moved into the house I bought the day before Thanksgiving. We are pretty settled at this point. It's a great neighborhood. Colin already made a friend with a girl down the street, she is even in his class at his new school. The adjustment for him has been harder, the school system here is far more advanced and tougher then the one he came from. We adopted 2 kitties from the shelter. They had been feral when brought in and terrified of people, but they really learned to love humans. They are great kitties. Their names are Max and Jade, they are brother and sister. I hope everyone is doing well.
