OfflineMichelle, I read that the Underground Education book several years ago. Scratch that … I read about a third of the book and didn't finish. LOL
It was … um … interesting, and I do want to finish it.
Books like that I tend to read in spurts… a little here, a section there, when I get bored or am in-between projects and doing general research. And I haven't been reading it in order, lol.. You're right, um, interesting.
I've got another about the Victorian London Underworld that I'm reading off and on as well, about the not so pretty side of the Victorian era.
I write books. I take pictures.
I sometimes try to tap into my Jedi powers.

OfflineI'm not reading anything as near as exciting as ya'll have been – right now I'm reading "Arctic Explorations: The Second Grinnell Expedition in search of Sir John Franklin, 1853, '54, '55" by Elisha Kent Kane, "The Art of Democracy: A Concise History of Popular Culture in the United States" by Jim Cullen; and "Exploring Other Worlds: Margaret Fox, Elisha Kent Kane, and the Antebellum Culture of Curiosity" by David Chapin – all related to my current chapter. I miss reading fiction. Sigh.
OfflineI'm reading a book called The Sign. So far quite interesting. Also still reading Spook.
Spook is good. So is Stiff, the Curious Life of Cadavers. Also by Mary Roach.
OfflineThe last movie we went to Monkette saw a trailer for New Moon (or whatever the second Twilight movie is) and thought it was cool and wanted to see the original. A coworker lent us the dvd and both of us were incredibly underwhelmed. The same person bought Monkette the first book. I read it fairly quickly and have to admit the book was not too bad, I'm now finishing up Eclipse and am looking to find the final book (New Dawn or something like that). After finishing this series I'll probably move on to the True Blood books and then get reacquainted w/ Stephen King's Dark Tower series (I gave up years ago because of the long delay between books). I'm also still noodling around w/complicity…good book but I'm nursing it!

OfflineI actually had time to read a book. It was a luxury. I found a book called "Her Fearful Symmetry" at B&N, written by the person who wrote Time Traveler's Wife. Its really interesting. Its about a woman who dies and is trapped in her apartment while the guy upstairs is trapped in his apartment because of severe OCD. She leaves her London apartment to her twin American nieces with the stipulation that they live there for a year before they are allowed to sell it. That's all I'm going to say about it. Haven't finished it yet, but am over half way done. Its really good. Its been a long time since I've been hooked into a book.

OfflineI am going back and forth between 2 books, I really need to settle on one & finish it. The first one is God is Red – A Native View on Religion by Vine Deloria Jr. and the other is In the Spirit of Crazy Horse by Peter Matthiessen. The second book is about Leonard Peltier and AIM (American Indian Movement). I have really started to get into my heritage more.

OfflineDo you have to start with Hot Blooded before you read Cold Blooded?
is there a book before it?
actually as i was reading the book the cop keeps refering to
another case and i kept thinking to my self that there must
have been a book before this one. so far it hasnt made a
difference. i guess if in the end the killer has some connection
to the first book then the answer would be yes. i think if i
were you i would read Hot Blooded first, had I known about
it i would have. now i know who the killer in his previous
case was so i wouldnt enjoy reading it at this point.

I found it on Amazon and read that Cold Blooded takes up where Hot Blooded leaves off. I guess that's a yes, then. /laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='

wish i had known that. i bet that the killer in Cold Blooded is
someone from Hot Blooded, just by the way the book has
been written and what has been happening.
D*MN! wish i had known that /dry.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='

That does sound interesting. I'll have to get them both.
