Is anyone watching V on ABC??? I was really into this when it debuted a year or so ago along w/Flash Forward (cancelled before the big payoff), but a prolonged absence left me wondering if the show was going to be strong enough to survive. I caught the first 2 episodes of this season last night and was pleased w/the direction of the show. Completely psyched that Sam from "Reaper" (another favorite of mine that was cancelled too soon IMHO) has a part in the new season.

I was hoping someone here had seen the original series and could tell me if the actress playing Anna's "mother" is from the original series?

My wife is watching the new series. I only watched the older one. No clue about Anna's mother. Did you check IMDB? I did like the woman playing Anna when she was in Firefly.

Yeah, I liked it better the other way too. And yes it's the same actress who played "Diana" in the original V miniseries on NBC and consequent sequels etc.

Jane Badler. She still looks amazing. Also slated for this season is the return of Marc Singer to the cast (although not reprising his original role of Mike Donovan). He is to be playing a rich 5th column member, probably the owner of the warehouse seen in the last episode.

You know, I wasn't so keen on TV sci-fi growing up (except Buck Rogers in the 21st century w/Gil Gerard and let's face it I only watched for Erin Grey )because the special effects were usually so cheesy (I won't mention any cult classic shows, but you KNOW what shows I mean). I didn't watch the original series.

I thought he as going to play the father of the priest? It would have been fun to see him play the father of the reporter.

I watched the original back when and have the first mini-series. All these re-makes of past shows is well a new version of cheesy. This could have been a good stand alone series without calling itself V. Still I am enjoying it and try to put out of my mind that it is based on a much older version.

The series is starting to amp it up a little and in my opinion is getting pretty good. Unfortunatly its in the running to get canceled by ABC. Geesh. You get into these shows and the suits panic if a show draws anything less then 10 million plus viewers.

I stock piled 3 episodes and "V"d out the other night…it looks like the daughter and grandmother are gonna team up. I've gotten bored w/the whole Anna, Ryan Baby bliss thing…we get it, she's got him where she wants him. I was bummed out about the ex hubby gettin' it but I have to say that Tyler is getting on my nerves like Matt from NipTuck got on my nerves and ruined the show for me. That kid needs a steaming cup of STFU, honestly (pardon my acronyms) but whatta crap weasel.

I like the direction it's heading!

Geesh I know I should be up on names but now the beardered guy was forced to blow up the 5th columns headquarters. Talk about enemies among us.

I'm secretly hoping that Joshua (Anna's chief medical guy) is still a 5th column and is just laying low (possibly angle to be explored? We'll see). As far as I know, they only tried to silence the priest by going over his head to the Pope's advisors. The reporter was the one taken to a wellness clinic to have a brain tumor removed, a tumor believed the V's themselves caused. Kyle is the bearded guy who got launched on his whole V hatred because of his wife's disappearance. Marcus (the dark haired right hand man who was killed) is apparently the one who had made initial "inroads" w/him (apparently the architect behind the kidnapping). It's such crap the Ryan survived and is trying to get back w/Erica and the boys. A-hole.

And it now looks like Anna's first number one is on the brink of being recruited by Diana. Civil War anyone?

POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT

Here's where I'm at w/what went down in the last epi aka season 2 finale. I liked them finally getting rid of Tyler (??? it sure looked fatal to me but who knows) as he was REALLY ruining the series for me, much like Matty did on NipTuck. He was such a whiny little punk, good riddance says I. His mom tried to warn him and he repeatedly went against her wishes and judgement w/the whole "teen angst" thing….blah. Ryan being bumped off by his daughter was another character I didn't mind seeing gone. He'd sort of run his course and after the betrayal, kind of hard to recover from that, no where else to go but down. Lisa's inability to carry out her mission was sort of expected. Here's where I'm sort of at odds w/all this, why didn't this Project Ares go after that Eli Coen and bring him in? Dumb, unless we're going to find out that he was involved w/them in some capacity.
