Hi there,

I just wanted to share this here for any visitors who might also happen to be fans of horror/weird/dark fantasy fiction:

"Toys for Tots – Horrorstyle" is a charity organization founded by my friend, author Joe Pulver, to help children in need this holiday season.

If you have a Facebook account, it's a wonderful way to win an entire library of awesome stuff, donated AND SIGNED by a bunch of different authors!

All you need to do is friend their FB page and then post two pics on their wall- one of yourself holding a toy you've purchased and another of the toy inside a Toys for Tots bin. That's it!

Here's a great blog post by author T.E. Grau that explains everything very clearly.

And, check out what's in the prize bag SO FAR, (with lots more still to come!)

Hope you'll all join in and help a needy child this holiday season, and best of luck winning the library- I know I'll be entering for my chance to win! /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

(*P.S. PUG- I also shared the link for your website on their wall, since it's comprised of a bunch of people who might be interested in it.)

If you are interested in helping this noble cause (and in getting the library that already consists of more than 40 books/CDs/mags/etc.) but are not a member of Facebook, you can always send us a mail with your donation pics!

tfthorror@googlemail.com

We'll include you in the raffle as well /wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

Et itur ad astra.

I see Lovecraft swag, saweet! My favorite author of all time, followed closely by Blackwood, Machen, and Poe. I definitely need to do something with this.

Hey, LadyLovecraft- nice to see ya' around these parts! :-) Thanks for posting that email link, I'm glad people don't HAVE to be on FB for a chance to win.

Yeah Chad, this would definitely be right up your alley! And you can make other family members donate for a chance to win it for you, too- one entry per family member.

Man, just the "Book of Cthulhu" alone is worth the small price of a toy donation- I have it, and it's awesome!

I will.

I looked up our closest drop off location. Now it is just a matter of buying the gift and taking the required photos.

I will do this sometime within the next week.

hmmmmm interesting….

/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> It is more than a bit interesting … have a look, if you dare – we just added a couple of more books!

I see Lovecraft swag, saweet! My favorite author of all time, followed closely by Blackwood, Machen, and Poe. I definitely need to do something with this.

There's more than a couple of Lovecraftian authors in our Goodie Bag and there's pretty much everything from Horror to SciFi, Noire, Dark Fantasy … you name it …

Hey, LadyLovecraft- nice to see ya' around these parts! :-) Thanks for posting that email link, I'm glad people don't HAVE to be on FB for a chance to win.

Like I said, this forum sounded more than just a bit interesting and I hope I'll find enough time to go through all the topics! Fingers crossed I'll manage until the end of the year …

Yeah Chad, this would definitely be right up your alley! And you can make other family members donate for a chance to win it for you, too- one entry per family member.

Yep, that's the deal. Everyone who donates and send us a pic of the donation in the box (and of dropping it in there) is in for the raffle. If you have a family of five and everyone makes a donation (and sends a pic), all five are in.

Man, just the "Book of Cthulhu" alone is worth the small price of a toy donation- I have it, and it's awesome!

What she said /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />. Plus. we have "The Weird" edited by Jeff VanderMeer – that's worth quite a big toy … just saying …

Et itur ad astra.

We'll see if this works out – I haven't received any donation pics yet, but here's to hoping /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

BTW, the FB page is an open page, so even if you're not on FB, you can at least see the gifts and donations!

Et itur ad astra.

Yay, Chad! :-) (And if I win, I'll give you my original copy of the "Book of Cthulhu.")

"Like I said, this forum sounded more than just a bit interesting and I hope I'll find enough time to go through all the topics!"

I know! I've been reading through the topics myself, plus I'm also going through all the back issues of their online magazine whenever I have time. Too much awesome stuff to read and too little time!

So, we're pretty much down to the final week before a lot of the Toys for Tots bins will be taken away. Not very many people have entered so far, so at this point your chances of winning the incredibly awesome, still-growing library of autographed merchandise are very, very GOOD. This is honestly not a scam- no one wants your money or personal info or anything like that- literally all you have to do is buy a toy for a child and post (or email) one pic of yourself holding the toy and another of the toy in the TFT bin. That's IT.

Seriously, check out this amazing library you could win for doing nothing more than helping a child in need this holiday season:

We are going today!

So, it turns out Cheryl is a toy snob. We were at Target to pick out some gifts for the Toys for Tots and not a thing they had was good enough. I was perfectly happy with giving some Star Wars Legos, but Cheryl would have none of it. We are going to Walmart early tomorrow I guess. Wish me luck.

There selection was just not good enough! If Walmart fails us we may end up at Toys R Us!

Awww, it's nice you're being picky for some kid you don't even know, Cheryl! /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Oooh, Star Wars Legos! I hope you can find an equally awesome gift at Wal-Mart or Toys R Us, Chad! (Mike and I actually bought our toys at one place and dropped them off at a grocery store TFT box, so I guess you don't have to be limited only to stores that actually have the bins.)

Luck!

the facebook links don't seem to be working…or perhaps my aversion for the site has rubbed off on the pc and it refuses to go there? I will attempt to make a contribution anyway and don't require to be part of the contest as I'm not a huge fan of lovecraft…though I do have quite a few of his collected works. Pictures possibly to follow. The drop off locales are literally right around the block from where I'm sitting.
